Been quite some time since I have posted.... Wanted to bring to you all a project close to my heart as I am a Porsche nut and this one is a rare beauty. A 1988 Porsche 911 with 8K original miles on the clock and such a beautiful example of the air cooled era. Needless to say I was excited for this passion project to commence. Let us begin.... As you can see.... the wells areas needed help. If you have not worked on one of these.... let me tell you, it is not just a quick clean and rinse by any means. MANY hours were poured into the underside of this vehicle. a 50/50 going into the plastics up front. a 50/50 in the rear well area a 911 joins the festivities took a break from the wells and started working the underside of the motor and such all the oil and cosmoline and year after year of built up crust was..... quite the process to remove making progress at this point. I've lost count of the amounts of caffeine consumed already all trim needed some attention. This was all cleaned and no dressings applied to any trim underside of the motor coming along undercarriage and lines all thoroughly cleaned after many hours due to the grease and cosmoline everywhere wells looking official now one wheel clean, one.... not so much lots of nooks and crannies in the motor to get caked on oil and such out of.... wheels on and looking proper brakes and company looking nice now some befores on the paint a 50/50 on the door trunk area dialed in the Porsche looking proper now and now for the sun pics.... all in all a fantastic project and fantastic car now looking as it was intended to.
Outstanding work Paul. Love the attention to detail to every part of this vehicle. Cosmoline is a PITA to remove.
