Look at I found in the trash today at work.....

I haven't been on here for a while...been busy with school and with this economical collapse we had a few weeks ago hurts the dealership big time. Anyways I was cleaning up the detail shop and then as I took out the trash I see a handle. I reach in the dump bin and grab the handle and this is what I pulled out.



It's not working 100% but I think i can repair it with new dewalt parts lol

I am sure you can get spares for it....From all that I have seen and read the DeWalts are said to be indestructable (well almost anyways).

I was thinking about it and maybe the brushes need replacing. Just a thought. Good luck...:thumb:

 

what you mean by brushes?

 

Brushes are pieces of carbon that send the elctric current to make the electric motor spin, making the shaft spin

 

ahhh i see......i'm trying to find a manual for a dewalt 849 online so I have a diagram of what it looks like disassembled.

you do not need to disasemble the unit to check the brushes. see the black round plug looking things w/the phillips head screw looking cross. Undo them one on each side to inspect the brushes. You should be able to tell if they are worn out...Hope this helps...:thumb:
