im starting to build up my supplies for when i start detailing for some extra cash and maybe in the future as my own business and i am stuck on one thing; Car Wash Soaps. Im looking for the Soap that will strip any residual waxes to leave a clean uncontaminated surface (of course before clay) and soap that will not strip any protectants. the list i have so far for my "kit" is: P21S Wheel cleaner gel Adam's Undercarriage Invisible Spray Adam's Detail Spray Adam's Clay Bar 4 Swissvax brushes 2 Uber Yellow Sponges Nearly everyone in my town is neglectful of their cars and the "quick detail" garages don't do a very good job for what they charge. Is ONR a good soap that does not strip wax/protectants?
soap that will strip wax is Dawn, and I belive optimum and Cg both makes soaps that will too. a good soap that wont strip off protection is 1Z perlz or poorboys super slick and suds.
Optimum makes an awesome soap, get a gallon and you won't regret it! Although it doesn't smell as yummi as Poorboy's SS&S, it is still awesome. It is slicker, foams up about the same, and those suds just last and last and last... Much better then Adam's soap IMO. I use Optimum soap to presoak my cars with a foam gun, and they (with exception of daily driver, which wears a coat of Pete's 53) are waxed with Wolfgang Fuzion, $175 wax!
DG 901 is a nice soap it's cost effective with plenty of suds and lubricity..if you have a car quest near by you can get it otc if your gonna need a lube why not use Megs last touch $16.99 diluted 1-1 rather then adams detail spray @ $34.95 unless you plan on placing a order with DD then it makes sense to get everything at once to save on shipping..

DG 105, DG 111 are both great, cheap sealants For Shampoo...Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Clear or Wash n Gloss for paint cleanser DG 901 for maintenance washes or Maxi Suds II from CG You need to look into the Meguiar's Detailer Line, very cost effective and good stuff...you can check them out at Auto Detailing Supplies
i use rinsless washes on all my washes (unless its a very dirty car) ..i have never had any issues , and never had a complaint ..i would be lost without rinsless wash
see thats what im looking for also as an option. i work for the city water dept. and i have seen some very outrageous water bills from houses as small as 1500sq ft. so the less i use; if i use their water; the better. water usage doesnt even put a dent into someones pocket when the typical 2-10k gallon uasage costs between $40-80 per month for anything close to 2,000sq ft with family of 4 i just delivered a final late notice to an apartment complex of about 300 units and the bill for all the meters totaled out to just over $20k. water costs are in the customers favor if they don't waste water. but in the summer usage more than doubles for most newer homes since the common grass layed is St. Augustine
