OK Shutterbugs... I am looking at buying a new camera SOON. Please post a picture of YOUR camera, and what YOU PAID and WHERE TO GET IT. I am not wanting to pend a ton of money (Scott eace: ) I can turn them on and snap a pic. I prefer something that takes an SD chip/card The Kodak I had before, I wasn't too happy with. I ALWAYS had to mess with the settings and it never took pics right. Everything was too dark, or too light... etc... I need something stupid proof.... So please... enlighten me with your shutterbug wisdom opcorn:
I bought a high end camera once and realized it was full of features I do not use. I always used it on "auto" and the pics were not good. I then focused on a higher end "point and shoot". The Canon A series works great. In 95% of conditions I just hit the damn button and get a perfect pic!
I've heard good things about Fuji, the SLR "like" ones. They aren't really SLR just look like they are, but reviews for the most part are positive. I'm actually looking to pick one up, either the FinePix S700 or S1000fd. Both are less than $200.
I use a Canon A95 for most of my snap shots and it works great! I also have a 10D and a bag of lenses, most of the time that all stays at home. If I don't lose my job before Christmas I think I'll be getting a 50D.
I have a smiliar one, works well, is a sony (which have always treated me well) and its under $150 cant go wrong DSC-S750 | Cyber-shot® S750 Digital Camera DSC-S750 | Sony | SonyStyle USA
Just got me a Canon SX110 IS. I have to say im pretty impressed with it. Very easy to use and pictures are pretty good quality.
I just bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 and so far its pretty awesome. It even shoots video in 720p HD. So I cant complain. Go to Product reviews and prices, software downloads, and tech news - CNET and you can read alot of good reviews. Canon makes some excellent camera's.
I bought my wife this camera last Christmas & let me tell you...This camear rocks & it takes the sharpest images in its class. What makes this camera shine & sets this it apart from its competitors in its class are these Key features: 1. Fast WIDE angle lense: 28mm-to-105mm, f/2.8-to-f/5.8 2. Bright & large 3-inch, 230,000-pixel LCD 3. Advanced Face Detection 4. Fast charge & long-lasting Lithion/Ion battery 5. Takes excellent imgaes & movies 6. Uses standard SD card 7. LCD screen auto rotates
dont get anything that has more then 28mm for wide angle side of lens(35 or 36 like most small cameras) (smaller this number the wider angle you will have) i used canon 570IS and its great camera, took very good pics and was easy to use, then got Olympus uz570 and almost hated couse of stupid drive by wire zoom system, now i got Penax K200D with 18-55(27-83mm in 35mm standard) and love this camera, got it for $561 shipped directly from Pentax before you buy anything check this website http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/ Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 is great camera like Cooter said Canon Powershot G10 Nikon Coolpix P80 look into this one Samsung NV24HD superwide angle 24 mm - 86.5 mm (3.5x) zoom lens 10.2 million effective pixels image stabilization very rare to this kind of cameras with 24mm lens, you might think that its not big difference between 24 and 28 mm but its HUGE difference, there are reason why lens 17-70 (27mm-?) costs 4-5 times as much as 18-55(28mm-?) lens on SLR cameras
i have a canon sd 950 IS. it's awesome.. i used it all over cars, people, environment shots, macro's .all came out excellent and everyone i talked to in march said without a doubt get the canon..i don't know if things have changed since then..it is the holiday season!! maybe something bad ass is coming out. but you cannot go wrong with this camera!!
