Going to be working on the wife's car this weekend and not sure what polish to use on the car. It has been and is a daily driver and as such has it share of oxidation, swirls and light to medium scratches. I have a pc with both 6.5 and 4" pads.

The car is washed with Meg's gold and clayed with meg's medium clay. I have meg's 82 and menz new power finish on hand but I'm open to your suggestions and what has work for you

Well I detailed one Mustang so far and the clear coat was hard, really hard...if it's anything like what I detailed I recommend you get Power Gloss or at least get a heavy hitter. Look forward to your write up :cheerl:

SIP works well on that car, i have the EXACT same color/car, it will prolly take 2 passes with the PC though.

    Thanks
I'll pick up some sip. What pad are you using or recommend with the pc.

If you already have power finish, try it first. Its almost as abrasive as SIP and finishes down nicer. I believe you will have better success with 4" or 5.5" pads on the pc than with the 6.5". I use a rotary, but would start with Power Finish on orange then finish with PO585rd on black or blue. If you have to start with something more aggressive like Power Gloss, try it on orange or purple foamed wool, then clean up with Power Finish on green or white to get rid of any marring left by the Power Gloss and finish with PO85rd on black or blue. If you are using a pc, be aware that it will take at least 2-3 minutes per 18-24" square section for the polish to break down properly.

I am using SIP with 5.5' orange pads, and yeah it oes take quite a while to break down on the PC
