I have a 2000 Lincoln LS V8 Sport, actually a pretty darn fun car to drive for a 4 door. I guess that's what bringing an F1 car specialist will do when designing a car. Anyways, the paint code is Silver Frost Metallic. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best combo to bring out that depth and shine. I have Klasse Sealant Glaze, Collinite 845, Collinite 915, S100, EZ Creme Glaze, and Natty's Paste Wax(tan). Any suggestions? I haven't fully corrected it, I only have a PC. I also have FK425, love the stuff. I forgot CG Butter Wet Wax as well.
I have and arctic silver BMW, and love the look of CG 50/50 and Natty red are good too! But my favorite "looking wax" is lusso!
Do you want it really shiny or warm looking. All the products you have are good but will produce a warm, deep looking finish. If you want a finish that is blinding, you will need to use a sealant. I like Werkstat acrylic gloss & Menz FMJ. Both are quite shiny and are easy to maintain. I hear Zaino is shiny as well, but I've never use it personally.
I'm more for the glowing and deep. I haven't actually tried out the 915 yet, but I definitely plan on doing it soon. I'm at college right now and away from my car, it's a shame.
Can't go wrong with Lusso. BTW, looking at these two, they look like separated at birth, both waxes look, smell and consistency basically the same. Makes you wonder if one is just OEM the other???
In my experience "glowing and deep" are not characteristics associated with silver paint,... I have tried NUMEROUS LSP's on perfected silver paint since I too, love the glow and depth. I have treied countless nubas, high end, low end, medium.. Don't get me wrong, some looked great but I never really got the warm, glow I get with darker colors. With that said, My go to routine for silver is polish to perfection, duragloss 501 on a finishing pad to deep cleanse the paint, duragloss 105, let 105 cure for 12 hours, follow up with aqua wax = Bling Bling:afro: In fact, I have a silver audi tt today that will see this treatment!
I would go with a few coats of Opti-Seal, assuming the paint has been polished to a high gloss beforehand, as it should be with any detail.
Sounds like a good plan. I'm glad you didn't say apply Vintage or some other ridiculous wax, I'm broke! Not really, just in college. Can you layer 105? Thanks.
105 can be used on painted wheels correct? So Total Performance Polish and the Marine Polish as well right?
I have used 105 of many clear coated wheels and it does a fine job! Yup, you got it 501, then 105. I use 105 on a finishing pad. I am assuming you use a PC, speed 3 on a pc will do some great paint cleaning.. I then lay 105 on top of it.
Ah so now I gotta order 501 and 105, EZ Detail Brush too. Can I get away with using FK425 or do you really recommend Aquawax? I don't know anything about Aquawax.
yesterday i done this to a white van thats been cared for polycharged jetseal and for the second coat the same but with some autoglym egp [liquid hardwax in the mix] took some work to buff off but it was worth it as the results are stunning and ready for the u.k winter, if you have,nt used polycharger, then give it a go
