... Celebrating 25 years of Toyota in the UK! Here it is, a 1990 Toyota Carina II GL, special edition in silver grey. Tidy car this one, not a bad pick up for £100 for a test car to go alongside the red Astra: Nice interior for essentially an 80s Toyota Engine seems solid as well... Very happy with it Done 70k miles, and been serviced every 4k miles - the service book goes on for ever :lol: Rescued from going to the scrappy this should make a very nice addition to the product research fleet
Thats the plan... revive the car testing products as I go, then use it as a test car for various products
Looks like a lot of fun, I wanna try that sooner or later. Make sure to tell us if you've made any money restoring it if you decide to sell it.
Trouble is, I tend to get attached to things like old cars... so I'll never sell it... But would be interesting to see what people would pay for it after some effort
Looks a lot better than most of the 90's cars here in the states! Looks like you'll have fun too haha, I would
Ooh, nice additional test vehicle there Dave! I love Toyotas, especially some of the older ones like the AE86.
What really for 100 pounds wow that's insane, that car here would probably cost close to $3,000.00 so that would be about 1,500 pounds over in the UK..what's wrong with this picture..mind you I'm just guessing it would cost that much, I've seen just about the same age vehicles cost no less then $2,000.00 and the interior in your vehicle Dave is in much better condition then the ones I'm speaking off :shakehead: Two great vehicles...I'm more of a Toyota fan though but two great test vehicles and I agree when your done with them I'm sure you'll get your money back and some :thumb: Look forward to your tests :cheerl: keep us posted eace:
Funny thing is that interior is in better shape than half the cars I have to deal with. For £100 that is a steal would make a great commuter car after a little TLC of course. Can't wait to see how you get on with both of them.
Yes, its amazing what you can pick a car up for being in the right place at the right time... this car was surplus to requirements for the owner and she was just going to scrap it - a real shame, as its a very decent car. So scrap value I paid, and now I have it Really looking forward to testing products on them, and with the Toyota and I'm half thinking of putting it back on the road in a few months as a winter runabout
No question about that vehicle being a winter beater...boy my winter beater has so much rust on it it's quite something...but then again it's a beater but that Toyota as beater is something else I tell you. Good find there Dave and look forward to your tests, ooh if anything I look forward to wet sanding...if you don't mind me asking, it would be nice to see a wet sanding video from you Dave :thumb: Just a suggestion that's all
Wow, for $200 american dollars that is ONE HELL of a steal. What are you going to do with all these vehicles you are "collecting"? IIRC you don't have a garage, so are you just going to park them on the street?
