EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING!!!!!! haha.

On 'Some guy's" website, the description of the wax is 1-3 years. I tried to put this out to the owner however did not get a response back. I gathered my own findings just from that simple example. I would love to try this wax or better yet have the money in my pocket it would cost to buy it.

Haha, I say we let Paul Dalton choose the flavor!!!

    :applause2:

Disclaimer: again, not slagging off this wax by any means, just surprised by the 1-year durablity claims. Everyone keep their panties on!

I think it is fair to ask that any claim stated should be able to be independently verified. If it can't be, it shouldn't be up there.

Of course, I'm not saying that CR doesn't meet its claim(s) as I don't know the basis of the statement and haven't seen the statement for myself. For example, our waxes will last a year on a car if you wax a car and put it in storage under a cover for a year. Without UV light to break it down, it could last a year without issue.

But even though that may allow us to make such a claim, it would be cynical to do so if people made a different assumption, ie 'one year of durablity' was commonly thought to mean it would last a year when the car is used regularly.

The fact is that good carnauba products generally last around 3 months and you can get up to 6 months from good layered sealants. This is just the state of the art at the moment with natural waxes and acrylic/polymer waxes (sealants). Of course, there is always scope for improvement and progress in the future, but that is a fairly accurate rule of thumb assuming the car gets used day in, day out.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone would love to know the exact basis and verification for the claim that is being made about CR and would love someone from SV or even PD himself to set the record straight. Unverified claims are all too common in this industry and I would dearly love to be proved wrong and nibble on a panel pot of Paul's choosing. I should state that it would need to be an independently verified or verifiable claim and pertain to a layer of Crystal Rock lasting one year on a car in regular use, as this would be my understanding of the claim as it was represented here. If that is the wrong interpretation, I'll withdraw the offer of eating a panel pot but will gladly listen to how the claim is justified :)

I think customer should have a little brain cell when examining the claim"xyz wax last for 1 year". Well it's too many variables to even mention. Garage, outside, inside Argon filled gas chamber...
Driven in winter behind snow plow and sander, under monsoon rain storm in regular basis etc...

As engineer if something doesn't have unit of measurement, it's subjective period and people trying to make it as objective as possible is nothing but fool.

PS: doesn't mean engineer like me doesn't appreciate high-end wax.

so i washed the car this morning and wiped it down with FK1 #425 to get all the sweated SN off the car...

DAMN does this wax look good :D it beads like crazy too! reminds me of Zaino sealants!

but i did leave a little bit of holograms on my hood... (i went from PFW and SIP (only on the hood) to Gray CCS and 85RD) :thud: so im going to have to re-polish my hood. then il put 2 coats on like dom recommended and then il post pictures!

the application was easy, but as the DODO factory said, i applied it wrong. i applied it by hand, when it is supposed to be applied by applicator pad.

Todd, why the need to bash on this forum? You could have agreed with Dom and thanked him for the great post without ending with an attack on the forum. The underlying message in that comment is that we, the members of this forum do not know what we are talking about. [IMG]

So how is everyones opinion so far with Dodo Juice Supernatural? How does it compare to other high end waxes in its price range such as zymol, swissvax etc? How is the durabitity, shine after a couple washes?

I really want to buy a pot but from my understanding there is two versions flaoting out there and I want to make sure I receive the "best".

Well there is SN and SN2.0. Also, one version comes in a wooden container while the other one comes in a plastic container. A sample offering is also available for much less if you want to simply try it out.

I was going to try the 30ml panel pot to try out but cost wise it is a much better deal to buy the 200ml. The wooden container is a smart marketing idea but it doesn't excite me enough to pay xtra for it and an additional 50ml. I just want to make sure I receive v2 with and when I purchase.......I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger since I am deciding between that, Zaino, Zymol Concours and Swissvax Concorso.

The 200ml platic pot will be guaranteed to be V2 where ever you buy it from. 200ml was not released with V1. The 30ml panel pots and the 250ml wood you would need to check with your chosen retailer as they could have either depeding on when there stocks came and how much they have got through. Although I would think by now most will have V2.

How about a company that acts on feedback from its customers. I would put money on my assumption.

ok, so i just applied the wax on a BMW E92 M3 in jet black, and it did not sweat AT ALL! so im thinking it has something to do with the front end of my car being repainted that it keeps sweating out on my car. because when i applied it to the M3 i let it cure for 30 min and then wiped it off. it all came off, vs whereas on my car it left some residue behind. it gave the paint an amazing wetness and depth! im still in the process of detailing the interior, so look for the thread in show and shine by saturday!

so are you saying you are never going to buy anything? there's always updates coming out and better things being released for every product in this world! thats like saying you wouldn't upgrade to windows XP from windows 95 because you know that Vista is coming out a few years later....
