This '05 Jeep was done as a Father's day gift for the husband of a co-worker (not a surprise for him). It had a few challenges to it: namely the paint, once cleaned had multiple, multiple chips to be repaired (especially on the leading edges of the bumpers and hood). Also, the interior had an enormous amount of dog hair that had barb wire attached to one end (O.K...maybe a slight exaggeration, but shit, this stuff didn't want to get vacuumed up!) I used a tip for removing it..duct tape and it worked great! I got to use my new black wow and compared it to black again just for giggles. The paint was measuring 2/1000's so I had to be careful not to burn through. They've booked next weekend for a full sized Explorer. The Process: Wheels/Tires: Wheel face cleaned with SC Wheel barrels cleaned with SC and a lot of agitation, and cussing:shakehead: Wells cleaned with APC, long handled brush Tires cleaned with ARO Wheels cleaned with DG 501 Wheels sealed with DG 105 Tires dressed with DP gel Wells dressed with Adams US Chrome Grille: Cleaned with Blue Magic Cleaned with DG 501 Sealed with DG 105 Exterior: Trim got either Black Wow or Black Again Roof & Spare Tire Cover cleaned with ARO, long handled brush Roof treated with 303 (got streaks) and then ONR QD Paint: Multiple, multiple touch ups (it got Infiniti paint, LOL) Compound with Menz PG with foamed wool pad, rotary where needed Polish with Menz 106ff Clean with DG 501 DG 601 applied by hand DG 105 applied/removed by hand AW after curing period Interior: Glass cleaned with Stoner's IG Plastic trim cleaned with woolite:water Plastic trim treated with 303 Carpet cleaned with duct tape for pet hair removal, with more cussing:shakehead: Carpet steam cleaned Mats spot treated with Folex, pw'd then vacuumed followed by steam clean Fabric seats steam cleaned BEFORES: AFTERS: Sparkie..I stole your shot!!
detaildoc..thanks a lot. After power washing the mats, I use the wet-dry vac and dry it one way for a stripe, then reverse the mat and pull it the other way and repeat. I like the look it gives. great job. do you have any tips on working the hood ? i find the wind shield bumper stops and 'hook' thingie along w/ the washer nozzles to be a PITA 0 far to tight for a 6.5 pad (only thing i have for the flex).

haper..thank you. I used my little 4" pads for that area and you're right..it is a PITA. I would invest in a smaller b/p and pads; you'll be amazed at how often you use them!! Joe..thanks a lot man!
