Ultrafina has a nice finish and is alot faster than 85RD, 85RD is slower but has a better finish to it.

I think this is going to be sheer matter of opinion here as both are very good. I have used both and just love Ultrafina. They both accomplish the same thing but Ultrafina has been a dream to work with.

I agree but the 85RD has the edge on the finish, if you are pressed for time UF is your best friend.

I agree..the PO85RD has a slight edge on the finished look....UF has a nice finished look also..but the 85RD just has a deeper look to it...like polished glass...more clarity ...sharper ..

I think you should get 106ff, UF, and 85rd.

I haven't used UF SE as much as I have used 85rd but I think the finished gloss factor is higher with the menz...

The closest polish to Menz 85RD is the 1Z High gloss Polish....I just ordered more of it...then I seen Chris is blowing it out now..so I may order some from him also at that price....its a little more user friendly ....

yea, i thought 85rd would be the higher gloss. i have that now, so i was contemplating if i should buy UF or not. but i guess it's not necessary... thanks for the help guys!

I would think UF and P106FF would be better matched for comparison sake as far as polishing ability. PO85RD is just a real fine "bring out the shine" type polish.

So is 85RD used mainly as a gloss polish? Or do some actually use it as a polish?

My order of 85RD should be at my doorstep any day now:headbang:

I would buy UF for the times when 85RD acts up, always need a back up. Also 106FF is more abrasive than UF so the 85RD to UF comparision is correct.

Wonder what would be a good substitute for 106ff?

I'm not sure how that can be? I see a lot of folks go from M105 or SIP right to UF or 106FF. If UF was a finishing polish they'd need to use something like 106FF or the like before moving to UF or 85RD.

I guess it all depends on how well the SIP or M105 breaks down.

Its all in your skill level. I go from M105 to UF with no problems.

I have both 085 and UF. I bought the UF so I can still do some detailing when it's hot out... the Menz can be tempermental when it gets too hot.

85rd finishes clearer, but Ultrafina just works wonderfully. Again, thats the general concensus of the forums talking. :)

I really can't tell much of a difference except UF works easier and takes a LITTLE less time.
