For the past weeks I've been fooling aroudn photshop and for the life of me I can't seem to get this to work :help: :help:.

I figuired out how to put a nice border around the pictures along with the copy right text but what I'd like to do is "feather" the background and I haven't been able to figuire this out

I kid you not I've spent weeks trying to figuire out how to do it but nothing  I've Googled the bloody thing :computer: and nothing  actually by Googeling I found out some wicked tips :reading: but the "feathering" affect is what's missing.

When I say "feathering" perhaps I'm not using the appropriate terminology but here is an example of what I'm after...this picture comes from Clark from Polished Blissed UK...wicked detailer by the way :wicked:

Do you see what I mean, see the nice border around the picture but it's not a standard border it has a nice "feather" effect to it.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

oh wait I think I get you...your asking me if I meant water mark?...um what is water mark?

Clark (owner of this pictures I posted) said it was a "feathering" affect  so that's why I call it that.

ooohhhh nvm i am in bio class and i only 1/2 read what you posted. Borders are under modify.

There is software that can water mark and border a batch of pictures all at once. No need to do them one at a time. You can use photo shops to make cool animations though.

Sorry Nica, I cannot help you with Photoshop but I just use the little program that came with my digital camera and I use that. I think it comes with any Canon camera that you buy.

    Thank you

I'll give it a go when I get home. I think pictures look really sharp with this feather technique.

    7. Feather the image:
Now, choose "select / feather" and choose a radius of 4 to 12 pixels to determine the width of feathered edge. You may not see a change, but just continue to the next step.

    8. Copy and paste image
Now choose "edit / copy" and then "new". Photoshop will automatically open a new image box the same size as the one you copied. Now choose "edit / paste" and the feathered image should show up in the box you just opened.

    9. Save the new image
Select "edit / save" and you're done unless you want to "edit/copy/paste" your feathered image onto another image.

Okay so I finally managed to get the feather effect  :applause2:

Now the steps above are from the site that Jayplay refered me to http://www.loriswebs.com/tutorials/featherededges.html

    I have some questions.

Is it necesary to do step#8?

Why won't the change come up on step#7

How can I do this feather effect for hundreds of pictures? I can do a regular border and I just use the Batch feature on Photoshop but the feather effect I'm a bit confused becuase I have to open a new page/window and paste the picture on new page/window then save it and then close all the windows?

This method works for just one or two pictures but perhaps I'm missing something can I still use the Batch feature?

Any help would be great :beerbang:
