So has anyone used both? If so what was the conclusion? I have 106 but im not so sure about it right now as i am outside a lot in different weather.
These polishes were designed to work by utilizing friction to break-down the diminishing abrasives, while in the controlled temperature / humidity environment (working temp range 60 – 800F (15-260C) of a vehicle manufacturer’s paint shop finishing line. It is possible to obtain results with Menzerna polishes utilizing a random orbital polisher; but these products were formulated for use with a high-speed rotary polisher that produces high friction and by using the correct pads. By using them in ways that they were not designed for could impact their ultimate performance and the results obtained. PO85RD and the PO85RD3.02, these are very different polishes; PO85RD is very much like the PO106FF as you can see in the chart but the PO85RD has a lighter powder concentration which allows this polish to work a little slower PO 85 RD 3.01 Super Intensive Polish *Finishing Polish ( my go-to for black or dark coloured paint surfaces) - 1200 RPM -White primary (softer less dense foam (70 PPI) with a light abrasive cutting action ) LC CCS foam pad followed by a secondary Blue finishing (very soft 100 PPI) LC CCS foam pad - 1100 RPM Super Intensive Polish also goes by the part number Menzerna PO85 RD3.01 (GMBH) but it has been shortened to PO83 for simplicity by Menzerna USA Alternatve polishes - 3M™ Perfect-It™ 3000 Extra Cut Rubbing Compound, 06060 3M™ Perfect-It™ 3000 Ultrafina™ SE (US) 06068 / Ultrafina SE (UK) 50383 Menz are great polishing products but their numbering system for identification is soooo confusing
You are correct asphalt I do 106 (black pad) and 85RD FP (blue) and the RD gives more wetness and clarity than the 106 which is very close but not quite Also you don't have to use 85RD at 1500 rpm or higher, it loves being worked at 600 to 1300 then being slowed down by 200 rpm and finished at 750 rpm for a flawless finish
