Pressure washer of choice?

It seems that Karcher is the pressure washer of choice for this forum. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I'm in the market for one, but its primary use is not for washing the car.

Ya, I'm sure none of you believe me, hehe. I started the Spring Cleaning of my garage last night and :sheep: that thing is full of spider webs, dried out spider carcasses, wasp/hornets nests, an old spray bottle of wax that I need to post a picture of, and a layer of filth. The previous owner ( I was his Best Man, LOL) never put a garage door on it; it's a detached single car garage. I want the pressure washer so I can create as much of a dust & dirt free environment for polishing, as well as wash the windows on my house, concrete steps to my basement, porch, etc.

    I'm leaning towards a refurb'd Campbell Hausfield PW1810. It's an electric PW.

Holy Mackinoli! I can't afford that. I see it's a John Deere...the only thing that would make that cooler is if you could ride it.

Some Campbell Hausfield parts are hard to find and also to repair. In my area no one will repair them because of getting the parts are hard to find.

Karcher PWs are not of the highest quality but they are available almost everywhere for reasonable prices, some people have had them for a few years with no problems ,if you are looking for a gas powered one ,try to find one with a HONDA engine ,(2.2 GPM or so,2400PSI)they seem to be durable ,electric pressure washers on the other hand are not as laud,I have one 12 years old and still going strong.

I wanted a more powerful/versatile PW which I could use a foam cannon, and other attachments with so I ended up buying a Briggs & Stratton gas powered washer ,these washers are average compare to Honda PWs,I'm happy with it so far.
    Good Luck.

I like the karchers because they are cheap, you can always just toss it when they act up.

They are NOT quality machines. (The ones I bought anyways)

I bought a gas powered one from Big Lots. Surprised me they had them. Haven't seen them in there since. Honda motor and Karcher pump. Used everyday for the past 2+ years daily in freezing temps and 100+ degree temps. never had a problem.
As long as you keep the maintenance up on them, they should last a while....

I have a gas 3200 psi Delta with a Honda engine I purchased at SAMS Club a while back at a great price.

I have a Troy-Bilt one with a Honda engine from Lowe's. I think the psi is somewhere in the 3Ks. Honda engine will probably live longer than me.

I got a Husky PowerWasher, 2000 PSI, from Home Depot the other day for a good price. So far no problems with it and I enjoy all the features it has.. a tank for a cleaning product, two different pressures on the machine itself and then on the hose attachment. Overall a very good buy.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I saw some gas powered PWs at Sams the other day. Or maybe I'll follow Phil's route, get the $150 refurb'd Karcher or CH, and hope to get 2 years out of it...I love shopping online...or did you guys not notice?

the karcher pressures are nice for the money...I am still on my first one after almost 2 years of regular use...the biggest thing is some [people think their karcher has gone bad when it starts "burping"...karcher owners will know what I am talking about....all you need to do to fix it is buy a 5 dollar bottle of pressure washer seal conditioner and it fixes it right up...
