DG: Full Interior Detail

In Michigan we got hit with a wicked winter.. as can be told by the pictures

I have a hard time lately getting out of my rhythm to take pictures so there aren't a whole lot of them .. apologies

Process:

 

Remove Seats
Remove head rests
Vacuum
Agitate carpets & upholstery with meg’s interior brush
Vacuum
Treat carpets & upholstery with my mix of meg’s quick out/ 303 Aerospace cleaner Chemical Guys lightning cleaner and Surf City Dash Away Cleaner
Agitate carpets & upholstery with meg’s interior brush
Let dwell
Steam carpets, upholstery and interior trim
Steamer Ready:

In Process:

 

Extract carpets and upholstery with hot clean water (I lost my photographer so no in process pics...)
Interior wipe down with micro fiber hot water and APC
Vents cleaned with meg’s slide lock brush and APC dilution and q-tips


Seats tracks and mounts thoroughly cleaned tracks were lubed
Interior trim treated with a mix of 303 Aerospace Protectant & Surf City Dash Away
Carpets & upholstery fabric protected with scothgaurd

 

Install Seats
Only one with the seat in just to give you an idea


Look what I found…
Head Rest Posts cleaned with Surf City Maximum Metal polish and 000 Steel Wool

*that's a reflection at the base and not left over contamination*

Very nice! I have that exact same steamer, but I use mine for my dress shirts! Never thought to use it on my interiors. Maybe I'll give that a try tomorrow.

What is your process with the steamer? More detail please...

You must have had some decent weather in the big city today. I'm jealous, if I did my detail outside today, I believe the interior would have freeze dried. Definitely not short sleeve weather in my area.

Great Job on the interior Jason...came out A+....does that steamer shoot a pressure blast of steam..or is it what you see is what you get....

You did a superb job...I hate doing interiors..thats why my son is going to do them this year...all the bending and twisting gives me back aches...

Bro that is one kickin' detail! Man I wish I could do interiors like you do. Looks like that steamer did one heck of a job. And I'm with Al on this "I hate interiors" they aren't a pain in my back but a pain in my a...! I would like some more info on how the extractor worked and what you did since I have the same one now:thumb:!

 

Steaming hot job Jason. The carpet came out great. We'll have to start calling you the Motor City Steamer. Want to come down to Florida and clean the carpet in my wife's van?

I really miss the Michigan winters.

My above process description is chronoligically accirate

I Vacuum, agitate, vacuum, sray my cleaner mix -agitated -let dwell - steamed, extracted and finally groomed the lines in.

I also blot all fabrics after a couple extractor passes as I feel it helps get all solution out and then I extract again

Well people were comenting that I was crazy to be out in a shrt sleeve polo BUT I dont get cold easily... Plus I was MOVING!!!

I used 4* 4 gallons of HOT water in a bucket with 3 oz's apc and a micro fiber

Get out of here.. you can do this... Especially once you get your extractor... taking the seats out not only makes it thorough but actually makes it easuer to get around

I also do not put any solution in my extractor just STEAMING hot water. My reasoning is I want to gaurantee all cleaning solution is out of all fibers.

I have realized the more power tools I incorporate into the mix the more fun the interior gets.. I decided I am going to use my aqua brushes on my PC from now on instead of a hand brush!!

As for the steamer.. what you see is what you get
