Thanks to 3D Car Care and David Fermani for the ongoing product review exchange program.

I have only used Micro-Restore to clean all my MF towels, so I thought I would give 3D Towel Kleen a try. I sampled 3 towels from a detail I did on Monday. I used my HE washer with normal wash setting, heavy soil and 2nd rinse. The towels were dried on extra low heat. Obviously no fabric softener or dryer sheets were used. As per instructions, I used 2 ounces of 3D Towel Kleen for this wash.

    Impressions:
Standard gallon jug with easy instructions, but a 2.oz measuring cap would be nice. The heavily soiled yellow MF towels were used on very dirty wheels and the purple cobra for sealant removal. As you can see Towel Kleen did a nice job and the towels felt soft and fluffy. At $16.00 a gallon it is a good value. I would say it is equal to the cleaning ability of Micro-Restore.

Are you really happy with the results ?

The Afters are not really that good.

IMO, on par with Micro-Restore. Next time I will try 3ozs and see if that makes a difference. With Micro-Restore my towels usually come out the same. I have read that BF and DP are really good, but haven't tried them. What do you use and do they come out better?

I use Micro -Restore and Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash, and have used them for about 10 years I guess...

Both work about the same; C/G seems to keep the towels more soft which is always good. Cleaning power is about the same.

I always use at least 3 oz's of the soap, and I never use microfiber to remove grease from anything, because it ruins those towels forever.

The only other thing I do to Microfibers is to add a couple oz's Distilled White Vinegar (sold at the grocery store in gallon size) to the wash and rinse cycle and this has also helped clean and make the microfiber towels last for years. This includes the microfibers I use for cleaning plastics in Interiors using products like Einszett Deep Plastic Cleaner, etc...

I prefer to use simple, white, 12 x 13 cotton towels (They sell some like this at Target) for all the really dirty stuff ..

I have had both traditional washers with the Agitators and now HE Washers which as you know, basically spin the towels so that they just fall on each other and this cleans them, but not as well Im thinking, as the older method...

Yeah I am going to use more the next time. I used 4 oz in my cotton terry cloth towel wash and they came out brand new, they were practically black. The yellow towels are Coscto towels and my terry cloth are from Costco too. The yellow MF towels were used on the wheels to get embedded brake dust off, didn't want to use anything too aggressive because Nissan painted silver wheels tend to mar/scratch very easily IMO.

Try "theragcompany" for MF needs instead of target and Costco. Way better product and inexpensive too. Shipping is also free.
