my dads cr-v has lots of scratches in back cargo are from loading and unloading stuff. he asked me to cover them up so you cant see white scratches. what can be used? im almost want to try that stuff they advertise on tv (wipe new) i think its called but maybe somebody here knows better quality stuff
Wipe new is garbage. I have the same issue with my Durango and have tried many different products to cover them up but you will still see them just not as bad. First clean the area very good with APC and a MF or Terry cloth towel, then I would use an interior dressing that has a high gloss shine or get one that is dilutable like PERL or Megs HyperDressing. From my experience with these scratches a high gloss dressing covers them up better than a matte finish dressing like Quick Interior Detailer or 1Einszett Cockpit. Lastly get something to protect the rear cargo area. I found an outdoor floor mat at Home Depot that fits perfect in the back of my Durango and it also protects the plastic trim and the rear bumper when unloading and loading cargo.
ill post pic when i see the car next time. ill try perl since i have it. just a crazy idea. what about using something like urethane and mineral spirit. or even use something that would kinda like soften plastic(i dont know if paint thinner would do that) and then use dressing what about outside untreated plastic. i tried couple different stuff but it was all water based and it washes off. even black wow didnt help. ill post pics when i take them next time might try rubber dub, havent used it in a while, just have to find where i put it
