What is the proper way to clean the pads when polishing and when do you know when the pad is ready to clean? Do you use apc to clean or the brush? Thanks..:shead:

On the microfiber pads, I just used compressed air to clean after every panel. I did half the car, then switched pads. You can probably use just one on a vehicle, but I wanted to be safe. If you use compressed air after every panel, you shouldn't have too much of a dusting issue, depending on what compound you are using.

I did about a panel/panel and a half at a time with my uber pads, and I didn't have a problem. You'll want to clean it wither it be with a brush or compressed air ( I prefer compressed air) when the fibers start to lay down.

And as far as cleaning the pads after you're done, I used dawn soap in hot water and a stiffer bristle brush and it worked pretty good. But I would assume you could use APC to clean them.

Compressed air is what you want, do whatever it takes to get a small compressor for this, it helps tremendously cleaning between passes/panels. I use some APC or Simple Green in a bucket of water to clean them inbetween cars, let it soak and wipe with a pad brush, and compressed air to dry, good as new.

^^^^ that is what I do. The other option which for me works is I have alot of pads, i know its not cost effective for some. But Ill one pad per panel now, toss it in a bucket of APC and water then wash them later. saves me time and hassle.

What are you guys diluting the APC at? Is it possible to hurt the MF pads with too concentrated a wash?
