Sorry to hijack and steer slightly off the topic but do you guys prefer the 15 over the 21? Think I'm going to be ordering the 15 soon. My PC has seen better days.

we should have more in stock towards the end of this coming week.

as for which one is better, do you work on big cars or smaller cars.

for mid size sedans and smaller go for the 15mm and for larger go for the 21mm if you can pick up both pick up both.

that's what we are running at the shop as well as the LHR75.:thumb:

Well look at this way.................... how could a car with less horepower(Porsche Turbo S vs Corvette ZR1) be faster?? gearing(PDK) and all wheel drive...................... the Rupes does it with stroke size and smoothness, it is doing more correction with less OPM than it's counterpart(Griots) which I still have and think highly of.

As for the Flex comparison, I had one for a shortime and sold it quickly and that was way before the Rupes came out. The Rupes 21 just works well ................... until something else comes out better it is the standard for non-rotary correction presently.

The above opinions are from a NON- PAID endorser, and take into account I am known for not being full of it so you can take my opinion to the bank.

Bob, that is why i chose to ask you as you are a stright shooter. I am glad i worded my question properly so my balls didn't get busted. I have never tried the Flex but have heard from numerous people that it can have a mind of its own and walk on you as it is of course forced rotation. I have a Makita 9227C, PCXP (which i never use) and a Griots DA which i love. I actually started off ass backwards and that was working with a rotary then reverted to trying out a DA. Perhaps when we make the move to California i will then invest in a rupees as i am not doing enough corrective right now to have such a awesome machine spend half its life sitting around LoL.

Thanks for putting it all into perspective for me though.

I'll check back later in the week. I work on mid size sedans and smaller cars more than anything else. Thanks for the quick response Phil.

I have a Crew Cab long bed superduty and my Dad has a Ford Excursion. But then my brother and sister have mid size sedans. which one would be best? Also have a 38ft travel trailer, but might get a rotary just for that. Thanks

Also, was highly thinking of a Flex, but this thread is making me think twice.

    I'll take your words too..

Do you use it with or without the washer mod and 6" or 5" bp ?

Just got mine in along with some Adams hand pads since I will be wont be able to get the the tighter areas with the LHR15ES. This wasnt an issue for me when I had my FLEX PE14-2 but since I sold it to get this, I will have to wait until I can get the griots 3" d/a. For now I will be using the hand pads for tighter areas.

I went with the LHR15ES so that I could use my 5.5" pads with it. I wasnt about to just let my 5.5" pads go to waste; being that I have about 30 of them.

I run the smaller backing plate on my 21 and have the "Mr KBM washer mod".

so a 21 with the smaller backing plate would have the larger orbit right? the speed of correction with 6 inch pads is amazing. so with 5 inch it is comparable using the 21?

Rupes is the way to go; smooth delivery, ergonomic, easy to one hand maneuver, quieter, and looks killer.

you can even "walk' the rupes over a horizontal panel by holding onto the cord while it's operating...

just like a yo-yo trick, you can "walk the dog" using the rupes, like how jose f. showed...lol

I'll be buying a Rupes LHR21ES soon! Talked to Phil(great guy, but you guys already knew that :)) and being I have a one ton truck and my parents own a ford excursion. Seems like the way to go. If I see it's too big for smaller cars, well then I'll just buy the 15 aswell :)

Watching all the videos on the Rupes, it just seems like the way to go. And being I just broke my GG6, I have a reason to join the Rupes club.

So i decided i think i will end up going with the LHR21ES, and buy the 5" backing plate to use with it as well since i cant decide which one to buy and figured go bigger and buy the smaller backing plate and do the washer mod

Good Choice. If you can only have one of them, this option makes the most sense. I have all 3 and have yet to use my LHR15 on a whole car...tried it on a few panels once and switched back to the 21. ;)

I just got my 15 in the mail.. still in the box havent even turned it on... but i had a question, do you guys know what is the thread for the rupes?? I want to try the CG 3" backing plate for those smaller areas, but on CG it show it only fits 5/8 by 11 thread??
