So my boyfriend and I were bored and looking through cars online, to see what kinda stuff we could find in his sister's budget. When lo and behold, we found his old BMW for sale. He traded it in due to the fact that the transmission was failing and the car needed new suspension all around. I think we're gonna go to the dealer tomorrow and take a look at it...and I'll casually mention the transmission problems that those models were known for and see what the dealer says :p

    Here it is.

Anyone else ever found one of their old cars for sale before? Hell, anyone ever bought one back?

Still own all my old cars, so never had the surprise chance of finding it back online. But talk about a needle in a haystack!

Not my car but funny story while back, ~1998, with my parents car. They traded in a junk Pontiac 9000, forgot what year but had ~185k miles on it and pretty old...well it was pretty much junk when traded in, heater core had a hole, rings where bad in engine, suspension was shot. It was traded in just to get rid of it and knock some off the new car price. Well about 3-4 months later my parents get a call from someone saying I am the person who bought the car you traded in and wanted to know what the alarm code was. It had a old school 10 digit keypad alarm pad on it. Dad said I have no clue as he had not used the alarm for years. Ends up being the lady is some 700 miles away and actually bought the piece of junk that to most anyone was not even worth $1000. Not really what you where asking for but your story just made me remember that.

Dealership called my dad asking if he could talk to the new owner and if so they would transfer the call so she would not know our number. We where just shocked the car made it up there and someone bought it.

yup! my first car was a 2006 R53 blue mini s. I was curious about where she was at and typed in the vin, sure enough it came up on ebay motors/auto trader. The guy kept good care of it and it looked just like the day I traded her in. One of my many regrets, had I not been in a lease with my current mini and unable to find someone to transfer it I would have purchased it back. in 2010 i had to sell her to keep the business afloat as i was desperate and it was the last thing I held onto until i couldnt :(
