I have been using Autoglym CWC for frequent washes. In my opinion, It does a great job and isn't too harsh on the sealant. The trouble I have is I'd like to buy it in a 5l instead of the 16oz spray bottles but can't find it in stores or online. Are there any other wheel cleaners similar to the AG that can be purchased in the 5l container? I do have Sonax but I only use that when I am dealing with a mess and am going to seal the wheels after. Thanks in advance.
i find that sonax is not for all types of car makes. i reserve it for the german vehicles. on the japanese cars i like AG CWC. ask Ken (911Fanatic on this forum) if he has the 5L CWC. that's where most people were getting it from before.
I use car shampoo when the wheels aren't that dirty. Works well with a variety of brushes and doesn't affect the sealant.
APC 1:10 if wheels not too bad APC 1:4 if wheels somewhat dirty then Iron-X. If dealing with really nasty wheels, WB 1:4 let sit for a min. then rinse (no agitation), then ACP 1:4, then Iron-X.
how often are you washing? honestly unless you have a heavy dusting car if your washing once a week there is no reason to use anything stronger then apc and water. unless you want something you dont have to agitate
If you do a search there was a guy on here talking about bulk cwc selling it for "impossibly cheap" from what i remember
USA Radiant Auto Supply Freephone 800 247GLYM P.O. Box 723 e-mail: radiantusa@juno.com TN 37024 USA $35 a gallon for AG CWC
I'm washing 2-3x a week and I use the AG cwc and cut it about 50/50. It still cleans great and suds nicely. I have used Adams APC and Zep Citrus, both cut. I don't want anything too strong since I am trying to leave as much Menzerna PL on the wheels.
I've ordered a few AG items from them, including a 5gal of CWC. They'll get you the best pricing, as well as quick shipping, and a hassle free transaction. Murray is the guy I'm sure you'll end up dealing with.
