I did this on a while ago but haven't gotten around to posting it yet. Paint was rock hard on this thing, one of the hardest I've done and I ended up spending more time on it than planned. Process: Wash - Foamed with OPC/CGCW followed by 2BM wash and CGCW Wheels - P21S Gel and various brushes Tires - OPC, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1 Clay - Blackfire Clay and M34 as lube Initial Correction Step - M105 on the GG6 with Surbuf pads Intermediate polishing step - D300/MF on the GG6 Finishing Step - 106fa via rotary and Blue LC pads Exhaust tips - Optimum Metal Polish Protection - Blackfire Wet Diamond Before pics: Several deep RIDS that ran vertically all over the car, this was the worst of them. NOTE: For all of you water blade users out there...let this car be a lesson on why they SUCK! I stayed away from the panel bend...not worth the risk in sanding. Test panel after several passes with Surbuf/M105 Nice before and after of bumper cover...before After
Finished pics! Scratch be 95% gone Cool metallic in this paint! STS-V waiting in line. Reflection shots Thanks for looking, Rasky
Absolutely AMAZING clarity you have on all of your recent posts! Also, I do like the metallic as well, from certain angles it looks like it doesnt even have flakes in it! PS, that last shot...that is the gloss level from Hyper Dressing at 3:1?? WOW! I am going to have to grab me some of that!
Thanks guys! I find that the tire itself lends to how glossy it will be. At 3:1 it's usually a very subtle gloss. I didn't use any exact measuring, but it was about 1/5 of the foam cannon bottle.
Yeah, I am still having BIG trouble with getting tires clean, I tried Zep Purple non-dilluted on my trucks tires, sprayed, brushed, applied more, let dwell 10 minutes, came back brushed more and rinsed, and they still look like they have some copper or bronze coating to them! I can see LOTS of brown coming off when I am cleaning them, but I can not manage to get them CLEAN!
