I've just recently started using Hyper Wash, but I've noticed that after I wash there is no more beading on the surface at all. I was under the impression that Hyper Wash was an everyday shampoo. So far it's seemed to have stripped off Powerlock and FK1 1000p, both about 2 weeks old. I'm just using about a cap full to a five gallon bucket, or foamer. Thanks in advance.
It's not pH-neutral, though I've had no issues using it for foaming/rinsing off after 5 minutes or so. I only use it for contact washing when doing details and tend to mix it quite harsh then, to get a little more cleaning ability out of it. Kind regards, Ebbe
I remember the ratio is 1 oz to 5 gallons...so a gallon jug gets you 128 washes Lol I don't think it's that strong of a shampoo
Hmmm. Interesting. I'm not sure why I'm having this problem. It's weird because the first bottle that came in the mail had leaked all over the inside of the box from a small crack in the bottom of the bottle. There was about 1/4 of it still in the container, so I poured what was left into an empty 1 gallon spring water jug. Smash cut to 3 weeks later and it ate a hole in the bottom of that too and leaked out in the cabinet. I guess it's just a coincidence that that happened twice, the plastic must have already had a tiny pinhole in it. I can't imagine it eating thru plastic. But the new bottle Phil sent me is still intact. I will give it a go on another job and see how it goes. I'll try mixing it even less.
Actually now that you mention it, it might. I use Chemical Guys Citrus wash, and I was putting in some Hyper wash for extra lubricity. It stripped the paint no problem. However, today I was working mobile on a GT-R, and only brought the Citrus wash. I put a lot of it in the bucket, and it still wasn't stripping the paint very well, I needed an APC to fully strip the paint. Now that you mention it, I think the Hyper wash was stripping the paint much better than the citrus wash, which is pretty ironic.
I've been using CG Honeydew in my Gilmour gun and it seems to be pretty decent. Less stripping than Maxi-Suds 2. And it foams great.
There may be some other variable such as pollen, etc and more a coincidence. Powerlock/FK is should be a durable combo but I have never used the FK.
I didn't watch carefully for my dilution but on average it was probably about 1.5oz per 4 gallon of water. For comparison sake I noticed this with PL topped with AG HD; it was diminished by 2.5 months. Average of probably 1 wash per 1.5 weeks. Daily driven car.
Sorry, I should have clarified. It was two separate vehicles, one with PL and the other with Fk 1000p. Both applications were about two weeks old and both appeared to be gone after a single wash with Hyper Wash.
I mix 3oz of HW to 24oz of water in my cannon, have not found it to be harsh at all. Never used it in a bucket with traditional 2BM method though
May not be stripped wax. May be some oil or polymer in Hyper Wash that causes the water to sheet off the car to aid in drying. That used to be a popular feature of car shampoos like five or ten years ago.
