so I ended up picking this PW up over the weekend and got a chance to use it on my wifes x3. It seems to be a solid unit everything worked well.

Tons of good reviews for the HomeLite 2700 PSI model from Home Depot (selling @ $299.00CAD). I am not sure if these reviews would apply to the 2200PSI model. I just picked up a 2200PSI last night from a classified ad for $130.00 brand spanking new in a box - all in. I have had 2 electric models (one Simoniz (worst) and the other a Cdn Tire brand) that came with plastic guns and both leaked like a sieve after 1 year. The motor for the Simoniz ceased in the second year. I must have used each 10 times cleaning things around the house - Pretty expensive. If this Homelite lasts me 3-4 years, I'll do a dance. Can anyone else comment on the 2200 PSI Homelite pressure washer?

Yeah my homelite is replacing a simoniz unit as well (POS). My gun was leaking after the 3 months and was replaced under warranty, then the replacement gun was leaking a year later. so far this Homelite unit feels very well built and the other good part is that it fits universal parts so now replacement parts are easy to find and not very expensive. As far as the motor on the homelite I have heard that they are Honda clones.

Hey Joey... nice review! I bought a Karcher unit from Costco and it lasted a month at best. I am going to try the unit you bought.
    Keep in touch...

I think the big thing on PWs to look for is the GPM, i bought a Karcher at walmart, its 1.5 gpm @ 1800 psi, about as weak as you can be and still be effective, works pretty well for me, havent had any issues yet, and it has a decent warranty. Sometimes i wish it was a little more powerful for my foamcannon, but overall it does well, and i dont have to worry about blowin paint off of my car lol.

Lets not be impressed just yet. I heard that most electric units < $300.00 last for a year or two and then die. If it's not one thing, its another that breaks. I can't speak for gas models. I was impressed with both of my previous electric models too when I first got them - may they rest in pieces. They were absolute junk after limited use. I read somewhere that TTI owns Ryobi, homelite, milwaukee and does the fabrication for Ridgid Woodworking tools. If that's true then at least they are in the business of manufacturing decent motorized tools and this bodes well for the PW's we just bought. What will be more interesting is what we will write a year or two from now on this topic and brand - just watch the language - lol. Nice video by the way.

I used to think most men were like myself and my family members generally handy and with the right tools and time able to tackle almost any task and with some trial and error get the job done. Now I have come to the realization that most men could not change out a light switch, repair a lawn mower, or even properly maintain a pressure washer. I own a MiTM Honda 6.5hp motor pressure washer, this thing is serious commercial use washer, the motor is bullet proof, the pump is insanely over built and would run non-stop for years, and yet I have read bad reviews on websites about it. If you do not properly care for your tools or know how to properly use them even the best tools will not last.

There are serveral good pressure washers that are affordable, and if they are gas they are all just about the same, B&S or Honda motor (honda is better even though I hate to admit it), the only real major difference is the pump. Drain your pump, pull the handle and hold it open while starting, check the oil everytime before starting, fill the tank and use stabil or ethanol treatment when storing for long periods, learn where the fuel bowl and needle are, if it has set for a while or you ran it out of gas and it wont start 9 out of ten times there is trash in the needle jet. Dont always assume that the person writing negative reviews knows a damn thing.

It is easier and cheaper to find higher flow, higher pressure Gas units, than electric units. Be leary of low pressure <1800 psi gas units the pumps are usually cheaply made:woo::bla2:.

I picked up this unit last month and really cannot complain at all for the price. Only issue I have come across so far is the coupling on the wand sometimes doesn't feel like locking 100%, thus causing the nozzle to shoot out almost like a bullet. Luckily I always test the nozzle and coupler with a few sprays on the concrete before pointing it at any vehicle!

Its funny that you said this because that happened to me too, it shot the tip out luckily at the tire of my car. After that I have been making sure its on first before pointing it at the vehicle.

Very Lucky! Not sure why, I've never had this problem with any other units besides this one,

Apparently, this is very common with the Homelite washers so be very careful.

Its common on many brands as the fittings are almost all made by the same manufacturer, try a little Marvel mystery oil on the inside ball bearings.

a comment on the karcher user, ive used a karcher pressure washer and when i jumped up to a camspray/kranzle, i noticed a huge difference in time saving. I can wash my car 3x faster than using a karcher.

I'd love to make the jump to the Kranzie unit... I just feel like every time i invest in a pressure washer the thing craps out after a short period of time... ONe day ! :)
