Hello all, long time reader, first time poster. Let me first say you have taken my appreciation for auto detailing to a whole new level, some of the work you people do is just staggering. My question is, I am a long time fan of Griots interior leather scent, however, I was wondering if there is a better scented formula that is currently on the market? I am looking for something that smells good, but is not over powering. Any suggestions ?
I use Optimum protectant plus, and right now DetailersDomain.com is have 20% off with coupon 400020, you should get some while Phil still have some laying around. I love it.
i have been using griots leather care for over ten years and still think it is the best smeller of all of them. i even mix it with their leather spray just to get the scent into the car. cant beat the leatherique twins for cleaning though.
I still really love the smell of cockpit classic the best. Too bad it is not voc compliant. So now I use cockpit premium and that's pretty good too. Gives the smell of "new car" IMHO.
Ozium and 1Z Klima treatment have a really nice frest scent. If you like more of a citrus scent, I strongly recommend Ardex's Citrus Clean. Ozium also has a citrus variant that is pretty decent. For leather interiors, I use CG's Leather scent after a treatment with Zaino or PB's Leather Stuff.
I like the scent of Stripper Scent a lot, but find its longevity in the car to be very poor. Majestic Solutions has some fragrances that smell really good, and last for weeks. My favorite, though, is the Yankee Candle "Car Jar" air freshener in their leather scent. That thing smells GOOD.
I have one of these hanging from the back seat head rest http://www.airwick.us/automatic-sprays-freshmatic-ultra-automatic-spray.php Not that scent. I'm using orange sherbert right now.
If you still want to get 1Z Einzett Cockpit Classic spray, Mike at Einzett, a sponsor on this site can still sell you the cans. He is in Austin Texas, and offers great pricing and shipping very fast. I buy about 10 cans of this product a year and it is easily my all time favorite, smells - well it smells CLEAN ! Also use their Deep Plastic Cleaner and Cockpit Classic. Their Einzett Glanz Synthetic liquid wax is also outstanding, easy to apply and remove, makes any properly prepared paintwork really pop, and has great duraibility. Phil might be selling this stuff too ! Dan F
I like the California scents air fresheners. Plenty of scents to choose from, and they all seem to last ages!
Yeah I know I'm bringing up an old topic, but I felt the need to comment on this. I personally love the way a car smells after I use Optimum Power Clean on it...it just gives a great "clean" smell, it doesn't smell like harsh chemicals or anything. It really seems to get rid of strong odors as well, I smoke in my car and after detailing it with OPC the smell was completely gone, so much so that I am (at least temporarily) not smoking in my car anymore. Of course CG's Stripper Scent is always a favorite, but again the longevity leaves something to be desired. I use Ozium a fair amount as well, especially for cars with smoke odors. And I love Yankee Candle's scents...I loved Midsummer's Night, and I currently have one of their fall scents in those vent stick things. Love them! I like to change my scent based on the season.
CG Stripper! All my friends love the smell which makes my Christmas shopping easy lol. 1Z Cockpit Premium is also an excellent product, both in function and smell.
