So my order of M101 finally arrived!! I will be testing it on my friend's Mazda 3. As he wants to wetsand some touch up paint from rock chips. Hopefully this with B&S Yellow on a PCXP DA will clear it right up!!
Make sure that's a repainted Mazda 3, original paint Mz3's already below 80 microns on the majority of the car and also you can knock out 1500 grit scratches with just M105 and Yellow B&S. Just sayin'
I'm with Hamza on this. Given Madza's ability to get paint on extremely thin, I wouldn't take 101 anywhere near it without a PTG. Even if you have one, get some 1/4" tape and tape off ALL the edges and high points on the body. Happiness is never having to say you are sorry. As well, Just use the 101 as a polish "booster". Add a drop of it to the pad with your normal polish instead of using it by itself. Yes, that one drop will make a big difference.
I have an 08 Mazda 3 coming in next week to remove some deep scratches, just how thin is the CC on these cars? I was planning on using Menz PG1000 with a yellow or orange pad and I do not have a paint meter.
Thanks guys!! I will use PF2500 with a drop of M101. If that doesn't get the result I want, then I'll proceed with M105.
I had a 2010 Mazda 3, paint consistently measured anywhere between 88-92 microns on each panel, no joke. When I brought it home to get some dealer marring and swirls out, I used P203 on a green uber pad and called it a day. I will not lie when I say the thin paint was a factor when in trading it in. Too thin and soft. My 2010 Jeep GC reads anywhere between 175-250 on panels and is rock hard, much better.
One or two at most, if that, if I remember correctly. The paint was in decent condition so I didn't spend any extra time working the panels, just a few passes then moved on.
