I was listening to the radio this morning and heard about this. Thought I would post the video.

This is why I've lost faith in nearly all of humanity...

Its not just the idea of the story that angers me, its the ignorance that she displays in her attitude about it.

You shouldn't be buying lottery tickets and cigarettes if you need help from the Government to purchase food. Priorities.... :shakehead:

Apparently there is a bill that is going through process right now so that people cant withdraw money from their financial aid account at ATMs in stripclubs, casinos, and liquor stores....

    I fully agree.

First of all, props to this chick for owning up to it. I bet other would have avoided the camera or told them to get off their propertly.

Second of all, there isn't a SINGLE person on this forum that wouldn't make use of free money when the goverment would send it to them.

Where does the problem truly lie? With the lady spending $200 a month that the goverment sends her or the GOVERNMENT not cutting her off?

    Yeah, i read that LOL..........

I can see where she is coming from, she is over extended whatever. There are rappers, and pro athletes who have bragged about the same thing. I blame the government as being the enabler, she is just working the system.

our system is constantly fighting itself, between full on socialism and a free society. I am not a fan of people raping the system, but there just as many college students that get government aide (subsidize tuition, grants, loans etc) who continue to gripe about the cost of college but live at home drive a new car and drink and party like its no big deal......

I know farmers who get a fat check for $500,000.00 a year and still bitch about how the government keeps interfering in their business but go out and buy a brand new HD chevy and pay cash every year.

So until the government cuts off all the entitlement programs for everyone it will continue to enable those who need it, and those who abuse it.

yeah her attitude doesn't help, but I agree with what was said above........ I doubt any of us would stop using it, hell my family does very well for itself and I could always use an extra 200.00 a month in free groceries.

Someone made a good comment about it too, she just paid about 500,000.00 in taxes..... so its almost a moot issue, but still its unethical

The problem lies with both the Government and the person receiving the benefits. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Don't even get me started on welfare. It pisses me off that people on it have more money then I do! My father worked everyday from the time his was 14 til now(60). Found out he has Colon cancer and unable to work. Yet he can't even get disibility cause my mom makes $100 too much a year. Their struggling to make ends meet yet this bimbo wins the lottery and still gets it. Wtf!

I love her excuse of "I have two houses"

Frankly though, I think introducing a bill to to stop lottery winners from receiving food assistance is the most outlandish part of this situation. Seriously, how much of a problem is this really? How many times has this ever happened? Once? Twice? We need a bill to remedy this problem? Couldn't that retarded politician stop pandering to the public and start being productive. Now THAT is a waste of tax payer money. How about that idiot focus on passing bills that will help business or the educational system. She also just paid 200K in taxes so she is taking out less than she has put it. Unethical? Yes, but not as unethical as the state setting up a lottery.

People have been taking advantage of public assistance since the beginning. So this individual is looked down upon because she won the lottery yet she still uses benefits? What about the lazy and fat fucks that LIE to the government in order to get all sorts of assistance? At least she is honest about it. Hell, if they think it's such a big problem, they need to take address it. It's obviously not bothering them enough to take her off the program.

what makes me laugh is all of a sudden there is enough outrage they are going to create a whole NEW law, probably create a blue ribbon task force to investigate it, and agency to monitor it and so forth.......... I can bet there already is a law on the books that has income requirements, but hey........ its an election year, you do the math.

    MOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR laws :(

I totally agree, im not condoning it, but she paid far more taxes then she will ever received in government food stamps. I blame the government and peoples sense of entitlement.

My only problem would be that $200 wouldn't get me very far at Whole Foods...

Well, at the end of the day, this really is a question about being honest with yourself...

You were on a food stamp program, you somehow have enough money to play the Lottery..

You won a million dollars, before taxes..

You are now pretty self sufficient - enough to go buy a newer house, a new car, and apparently still have another house you mentioned..

You know that to QUALIFY for food assistance, that you have to have a very small income or whatever the rules are for qualifying..

You just won this money - do you THINK that you still qualify for food stamps??

That's what I thought - NO you dont qualify for food stamps any longer...

Now, listening to her speak and looking at her, bless her heart, I think she might also have another issue going on, that is making her thinking and reasoning flawed.. I think that she might be on some kind of addicting something.. I hope she can get help, if she is, and get on her way to becoming self sufficient..

she may not even be able to work for some reason or another......... who knows.

BUT $200.00 at whole foods will buy you 50 pounds of bulk salad at the salad bar!!!!!!! load it up with ham, cheese and olives LOL
