I was called in to try to improve the finish on this car last Tuesday and I was asked to spend just 1 day on it ($$$).
It turned out to be 1 day and 2 hours in the end. 503 removed the bumpers and everything else to make my job a lot easier. I was told that it was buffed out awhile back, but that it didn't turn out as hoped or that the finish didn't last.

I took many before pictures but not enough during the detail for obvious reasons. (T>I>M>E)

    Process:

3D grand slam 4:1 wipe down
HD UNO black wool GG PC
HD UNO orange pad flex 3401
HD SPEED black pad flex 3401
HD POXY black pad GG PC
    HD METAL POLISH
    3D window cleaner
    3D tire shine

Paint readings were between 205 - 650 microns - had plenty to work with

The paint was completely flat even though in some before pictures the car seems to have some shine :wall

Before but after the wipe down how the car looked.

Great work Thomas! That thing is beautiful now, didn't realize how awesome these little cars were until watching Wheeler Dealers the other night when they did a mini resto on one.

Great save. It looks like it just rolled of the showroom floor.

perfection? what more to say haha !

One question tho, How do you like HD metal polish ? Comparing to other metal polish it's like 3x cheaper than anything else. Quality product? cream or liquid?

    Thanks!

Beautiful job Thomas. On my list of cars to own before I die. Simply Awesomeness and pleased to see it was in the hands of great skill. Too bad with the time factor tho I would have loved to see more pics. Thank You!

I don't think that car even in 1967 was that shiny when new........ that is amazing work.

Nice job Thomas. Was the repaint ss or base/clear? Final pic is amazing compared to the before pic. WOW!

I really appreciate the replies. Thank you very much! The paint is SS.

The owner has not seen the car. I doubt he realizes how different it looks now.

I really like the metal polish. Better than the previous brand I have tried. It is liquid.

Portland is the best city. I am so glad we moved here.

I also wished I had more opportunities to take pictures, but sometimes other factors are more important.

I do like the last picture as well. I was outside to get something out of my car and as I turned I saw how great the light was - ran in and got my camera, put it on "P" and took a quick shot of it. Came out real nice. Straight out of the camera.
