Really basic question, but how do you steam an interior? I have a steamer, do I spray it with something and then steam it, or does steaming it alone clean stuff? Also, I'm assuming you have to spray something on stains, then you steam it and it comes out? Thanks guys.
Most "diaper" one of their steamer attachments with a cloth. I keep all my old, crappy athletic socks for using with metal polish. I keep about 4 - 5 inches of the toe end separately to pull over the triangle attachment for the steamer. Some things come super clean with steam and cloth, others need a touch of APC before steaming. On the occasion I do a headliner I usually double-wrap the attachment with a pair of toe-ends and rotate frequently to keep moisture to a minimum. Get too aggressive with steam on a headliner and you risk weakening the adhesive. I use the open nozzle to blast door jambs as well as foot pedals. Trouble with blasting steam is you can't see what you're working on. Leaving both doors open with a slight breeze or fan helps. TL
One thing I learned the hard way with my VX5000 was when doing cup holders or ashtrays is not to blast away when they are full of crud. You will spend the next half hr. cleaning up the splatter. Lesson learned. LOL.
I'm glad I made the purchase. Works great doing door panel seams and jams, cup holders and consoles, seat tracks, vents and grills. I use it in tandem with my extractor on carpet and cloth seats. If it died today there would be a replacement ordered asap.
