Just so everyone knows, the University of Texas at Arlington is NOT to be confused by the PRESTIGIOUS University of Texas at Austin. Which I attended, naturally.
I am not sure what to think about this article, I would like to meet the people that did the washing.
Wow, this has to be the most one-sided article I've ever read. There is no question that washing your car with the wrong technique will cause damage. I'm not disputing that fact. What I am disputing is that this article seems to assume that everyone is an idiot and doesn't know how to wash a car by hand properly. They will never convince me that an automated wash will ever do as good as job as me - much less cause less damage. Also, one could poke holes in the science of this study all day long: Where all the cars identical? Did they all have exactly the same (factory) finish? Were they the same age, milage What condition was the paint in prior to the test? Way too many factors....and I wouldn't be surprised to see if the Carwash Association had their hand in this somewhere along the lines too... Now if you'll excuse me I have to go run my company truck through an automated wash....
hahahaha too funny oh and it's true he really does use an automated car wash hahahahaha That's an interesting article :crasy: :crasy: to think they actually spent money on that article wow :shakehead:
OMFG... this is so true...not!!..maybe their test people have no freakin clue of the right techniques of car washing.. but in most cases this is true.. most people do tend to self wash their car in an improper way.. but automatic car washes had inflicted more damage as a personal experience of mine just a couple of months ago (i was desperate to get my car clean/ before i discovered ONR)...
hmm...no surprise that the Car Wash Association (whose members are commercial car wash owners) would tell you to go to a commercial car wash...what a stupid biased article...but then again its commercial car washes and dealership washes/new car prep that has kept me in business for years
Honest opinion or merely advertising? Commercialism brings with it concerns of honesty and true representation. In other words, it’s difficult to know what is true when someone is motivated by income, i.e. directly targeted at product sales, more so than an unbiased opinion My biggest problem with these types of articles is that this misinformation is read by the general public, believing the source, after all it the PROFESSIONAL car wash assoc :applause:
