Right before the Thanksgiving holiday I went on a road trip to service a client in Sacramento who was looking for more as it pertained to the maintenance of his vehicles, the client has "The eye" for detail and wanted to finally get the cars to a point where he could maintain them after the heavy lifting of a major paint correction and detail on all of the cars and he was told about my service from another Ferrari client who has a Challenge Stradale like this client(Identical cars Rosso Scuderia) and a 458. The client keeps the cars nice as he can but has well water @ his home so I gave him links for products and a CR spotless to prevent the horror I encountered getting the hard water etch of his two Audi's. First up is the Phantom Black RS4, this was a CPO vehicle he picked up which was a nice car but had seen some "Hackness" in it's life with holograms on the finish and on the clearfilm as well(Big no no using rotary on film........) and the car had been de-badged so there were deep scratches in the removal. Here is the hologram on the film after the wash/decon. Deep scratches in the finish from de-badging. Scratches corrected. More deep scratches on trunklid. Sanded this area. Finish now back to "As new". Customer provided all the factory badges and I installed them, not many pics as I was on a deadline time wise................sun pics of the finished car. Holograms removed from clearfilm. AUDI R8 During clay step. RIDS on engine cover. After. Example of the brackish water spot damage. Removed.......................finally. The WORST part of this job was removing the calcium/hard water etch from this grill on the pop up wing...............3 hours spent of tedious re-applications of the gel and fine brush work. All better............... Not a lot of pics on this car and no sun pics as I finished it at 11:00PM, interior pics.
As promised I utilized the "Wolf's Chemicals" ninja approved LSP the "J" aka DSMS aka Dave I have a Valencia Orange 1M Saunders left behind when he was out at my shop a short while ago, applied two coats and even with out sun pics the car is "Dialed in". Client did not mind if his plate was shown................."Rated R" for the acronym challenged. FERRARI 360 CHALLENGE STRADALE Sonax FE doing it's thing. Heavy marring in the Stradale graphic(Not painted on). Corrected. Marring on the door handle. Cleaned up. Wet sand scratches Marco & Giancarlo left in the car in 2004...................lol. Corrected. Exhaust can not looking it's best. A little better.................... Sun pics.
Nicely done, the RS4's paint is really poppin'. What did you use on the clear film? Kind regards, Ebbe
Niiice! I always love seeing those exhaust cans when you get finishing "Bobbing" them!! How did you like the application and removal of Body Wrap?
I put it on via "The Phil method" 100PPI pad on the Griots at speed 1.5 buzzed it in for 20 seconds then wiped....................waited a half hour and repeated and "Bam" R8 tightness!. To answer the question about the "Gel" it is Mark V "Splash" super strong water spot remover and is acid based so kids wear gloves or you will be sorry.
