Gonna order a griots 6" da today and want to know if I can get a 3" backing plate to run the 3" meguiars microfiber pads?

I use the 5" Meg's W67DA with the 5.5" MF DA pads and the 3" GG BP with the smaller pads... no problem. Meg's strongly suggests using their BPs for the MF DA pads due to differences in cooling due to the velcro. I've had no problem using the 3" GG BP... but then I don't use it for serious correction, just hard to reach spots. I've seen reports of shortened pad life and delamination with people using LC BPs with the 5.5" pads. YMMV.

I checked detailedimage and they sell the 3" backing plate and comes with multiple adapters so im assuming the threading on the griots, pc and meguiars g110 all use the same type of threading and all those backing plates are interchangeable.

Yes, that Detailed Image backing plate will work just fine, and I have one also. It will mount on a DA or a Rotary with the proper adapter. Just be aware, as TL Mitchell has said, that the velcro might not be the same type/length as what is installed on the proper meguiars backing plates for using with their microfiber pads. And that using the wrong velcro size, could result in overheating the back of the pad and possibly delaminating the velcro from the pad.
And as he has also said, for small spot correction, it might be ok, but for production work, it would be good to keep an eye on the backing plate velcro.

    Good luck with this !

Yea I noted different backing plates producing heat. The backing plate is the Meguiars 3 inch plate and even checked Meguiars site and thats the only 3" plate they sell. I'm only using the 3" spots here and there, using the 6" for 90% of the work.
