I've been using D301 for the last couple detailing jobs I have done instead of Poli-Seal. D301 acts extremely similar to Poli-seal, but IMO it gives a glossier look. The stuff is super easy to use too. I've been using it with my uber green pads. I'm going to use the MF polishing pad tomorrow on the detail I'm currently working on. Anyone else here using D301 as a replacement for Poli-seal?
I am using it in conjunction. For the longest time(and I still do) use poli-seal with black foam or red foam typically on a rotary at low RPMs for a really nice cleaning AIO that actually gets a little better correction than PS with a PC... With a PC 301 is really nice, but I wouldn't ever bother replacing PS or the other cleaner AIOs on a rotary for fear the SMAT would give me the slightest of little trails, which is never a problem with PS.
I agree, and proficiency is what will set the foundation for avoiding them. Just stating that the SMAT in 301 will probably give you them regardless because of the nature of the product
anyone here use D301 with a MF cutting pad instead of a MF finishing pad? it will just give you more cut right?
Yep, it allows for a little more pressure to be used, probably a small increase in correction because of the thinner pads. You can also use the cutting pads with M205 if y ou are 1 stepping, but you have to be diligent in keeping them clean with 205, I feel a bit more than D300.
I think 501 has the edge in cleaning and sealing, 301 a slight nod to correction(mild, but there - pad depending). If you are considering 301 but have 501 already, just stick with 501 301 is sorta a product that is an easy to use protection product, very mild refiner, 501 a cleaner, signifcantly better sealant.
Definitely. D151 fits better for people who need a definite ALL IN ONE AIO as opposed to just an AIO.. if that makes sense. Don't. You have stated many times the need for EXACTLY what D151 does. D301 does not fill, it barely corrects and really its a combo product meant for very quick LSP and slight refining(which really could be the action of the pad on the finish, with the liquid acting as the lube). While I think D301 is good, I don't think in your case Karl, you would be happy with the finish D301 leaves compared to what D151 would do for you.
Mike, you always call it like it is....... I love that! because that is what I have been using on the sheriffs cars that I do........ I actually love D151, its a very good product for beater cars like patrol cars, or our farm trucks or cars that don't need correction, just need to be spiffed up.
I have using D151 with the MF Cutting pad as my one step, and it has great correction ability. It's my new AIO with the MF pads.
do you guys have air gun to clean the MF pads? so for cutting ability, it is M105>D300>D151>M205>D301? The menz power finish would line up after D300?
How you been G? I still have remnants of the Aquapel you gave me on my windshield. It's not nearly as strong as the original application, it's barely there, but damn it's been almost a year! I gotta buy some more for sure.
