Hey guy's this is my first write up: Total time: about 6 hours What was done: - tires, wheels and wheel wells cleaned and dressed - door jambs cleaned and sealed - washed - clayed - dressed - sealed Products used: - AE Tire dressing - AG CWC 1:1 - CG CWG - CG WC 1:1 - Dawn - Einszett Glanz Wax - Meg's APC+ 4:1 - OPT Metal Polish - OPT NR at 22:1 and 64:1 - OPT Opti-bond 1:1 Before: During: APC+ in action Did some correction by hand, the back bumper was really bad the car was taken through a wash two days after it was repainted. After: Up next week is going to be my neighbours dodge ram if the weather holds up.
Thanks guy's, I try and keep myself from spending to much money on products that do the same thing, I just found something I liked and im sticking to it. Yeah it was really bad, I wasn't doing any correction work so I just made it look better then it was, it still has lots of deep scratches but atleast you can actually see your reflection in it now :applause2:
Meguiar's ultimate compound Thanks hamza definately learned alot, now I just gotta practice alot and improve my techinque, also have to manage my time better so I can get these types of details done in 3-4 hours like you guy's do.
holy crap man! amazing results! I gotta pick me up some of that ultimate compound, as I've been using just the deep crystal polish, which has no cut to it, just masks the swirls and such.
Good work on the Accord. BTW, have you had any issues with severe rust in the engine compartment. I used to own an 06 back when I live in OH and MI and every engine bracket was severly rusted by the time I traded it in.
I've noticed that applying by hand it will only remove minor swirls, but will restore alot of clarity, I guess it also depends on the hardness of the paint. Yeah it's my mom's piece of crap, i'd say just about every bracket in the engine bay on this thing is rusted too. It also had a bit of rust pop up on the rear fender well but Honda fixed that free of charge.
Well, i don't think my chicken arms will allow for more correction that what you achieved. so i should be okay. BTW have you tried the AG perfect palm applicators out? I picked one up for applying polishes and found it to be way better than my zymol foam applicator or one of the crappy CT "microfiber" applicators.
