Problem with society anywhere is entitlement, be it government or self sense of........
disrupt the status quo and all of a sudden there is blood in the street, people do not know how adjust, adapt or over come even simple shifts or disruptions in there life. many people are resistant to change, especially in California or other areas where the government is no longer able to support the entitlement programs, welfare, food stamps etc, people take it as an us versus them and then loose control, thankfully rioting is not tolerated here, even though the ACLU would like to think its part of the freedom of speach.

Most "rioting" as seen in Canada, LA, Katrina are the result of opportunistic criminals. I cannot speak for the middle east, that is a whole different topic.

The other problem with countries like UK, or other places where the freedom to defend yourself is taken away IE no handguns etc.... you become a victim. Take Norway for example, the massacre at the retreat, 15 minute response time, and the police keep thier guns unloaded int he trunks of their car, situations like that end one of two ways, everyone is dead or the guy runs out of ammo.

The ability to defend yourself at any level is not a privilege it is a right. As much as I dislike the direction our country is headed, especially the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, I am still afforded my basic right to defend myself, my home and my property which the Second Amendment affords me... come rioting down my street and that is the last street you will ever set foot on. Governments that take the basic right of self defense away do not do it in the name of "anti violence" they do it to control the people. Again, America affords you many rights that are taken for granted, watching this video proves it.

Bob, that's why I trully believe there should be NO SUCH THING AS FREE EDUCATION IN COLLEGES/UNIVERCITIES EVEN IF PEOPLE ARE POOR...they can get a loan and PAY IT BACK once they get a job, not spend them on unnecessary things such as luxury vacations...and BTW, all illegals should be kicked out, the only way to let them stay here if they "volunteer" to be "lab rats" for medical experiments...It pisses me off seing everywhere "se habla espanol"...why don't they learn how to speak English?

Best picture I saw was during Katrina....some guy was wading out of a sporting goods with a pair of Nike and a basket ball, probably lost his home and has not eaten in days, but was getting the essentials. Second best picture was a group of Blackwater Contractors rolling heavy and the streets back under control.

100%....... take a loan and pay it back, let it be the end users responsibility to pay for college, be it low interest who cares, why are grants the only way seen to attend college?

As for illegals, I'm with you..... I live in Fresno, it is overrun in many areas, whole towns of them and many flaunt their status, but our socialist government says once they are here they should be afforded all the same rights regardless of status which is total BS.

However there has been a wonderful trend, there is a high level of them leaving the state and going back to mexico, lack of jobs i guess. But they will be back....

The problem lies with Mexico and their weak ass government, most illegals are not even Mexican, they are from other countries below mexico, but Mexico does nothing to stop the migration, be their citizen or the people from other countries. In fact illegal immigration benefits Mexico 100% since most illegals send the money they make back to mexico or where they came from and it is spend in Mexico, so its almost a back door economy. Ask any Border patrol agent who works the border, you hardly see Mexican law enforcement on the Mexican side. Time to militarize the border like every other country in the world..... it would be cheaper too.

Yes Bob and also out the window is the value and respect of U.S. citizenship. As California rolls out the red carpet for those "illegal aliens" by providing a smorgasbord of benefit programs at taxpayer expense such as:
    1. California Healthy Families (Healthcare)
    2. Wics (women infants and children (food stamps)
    3. free education and in state tuition for "illegals"
    4. Section 8 housing (free or largely subsidized housing) and many other programs
I can't think of or are not familiar with.

But as we know it's "all about the votes" come hell or high water and this is what we get while the California state legislature continues to increase legal and regulatory requirements on business as well as raise taxes on the "earners". So, in essence their leadership is resulting in chasing business and high earners and ever increasingly more taxpayers out of the state while simultaneously inviting "tax takers" into the state. This is not a recipe for economic success and there is a reason why the state of California is well north of 22 billion dollars in the hole. California has the 8th largest economy in the world and is one of the highest combined tax states in the union yet it is the one with the highest deficit. Think about that.

Greatest thing about these "youths" is that they are torching their own neighborhoods. Never quite understood that. When you torch your own neighborhood, what are the chances that a local shop will survive something like that and have enough money to rebuild after that? They are probably one of your own! Who on earth is going to want to invest in your neighborhood? NO ONE. Once you are caught on CCTV and you get convicted, that'll go on your RECORD. Once you try and get a job after the dust settles, who will want to hire you? NO ONE. And it's not like there aren't jobs in the UK. They're just too lazy to do them. Why else are there droves of POLES coming to the UK to work?

Large businesses can survive this, it's merely puts a dent in anything when a Best Buy or what have you burns down. They will collect the insurance checks and probably NOT re-open that location and invest is elsewhere in their business. Small businesses? It's devestating for them.

that is good, it should be a pay to play type scenario. my parents and I paid for my college out of our own pockets, why should anyone else get a free ride. Now I know state colleges are subsidized unlike private universities like where I went, at it annoys me to see the students piss and moan about a 5% tuition increase etc etc...... when there total bill is 40% of what it should be. In fact some of them whine more then those on welfare... so entitlements are paid out to all classes of citizens, I'm not down for any kind. If they eliminated the majority of entitlement programs in the USA, as well as a chunk of foreign aide etc etc. we would be better off, and be able to focus more on our domestic issues.

California also has the highest unemployment rate, and spends 3 Billion dollars + a year on illegal immigrant services and is 2.8 billion dollars in debt, see the correlation? or abuse of services I should say. Not to mention the prisons unions that run the state budget, again coming from a LEO background Im not slamming the Jailers, its the unions that have destroyed the system. I have a few friends who work in the prisons and clear 150k a year, sound fair compared to a street officer who makes 60k. But since they are a state organization they have a greater amount of money to hold hostage during collective bargaining stages. The SEIU is another union costing California billions. And on top of that the governor wants to have a "state funded dream act" to send illegals to college....... uhhhh where is the money coming from?

when will political learn the tax payers are not a money tree.... spend what you make, not make what you spend. hence S&P devaluation!

A Russion guy was sitting next to me at the roulette table in Vegas a few months ago. Told me he was already on his third marriage. The first two were fake just so he could get his green card. He told me "hey, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do..."

I am just saying people in California who do not like it there should go elsewhere they do not have the same issues. They can be like the hispanics, leave your home to find a better job in a better place.

that is the plan......... only issue is my wife is rooted here. I am not, so i'm a victim of circumstance. I get the right to complain, with the amount of money we pay in taxes every year it is our duty to question the mismanagement of financial resources our state seems to think is a blank check.

Besides if upset citizens choose to walk away from their country's or state's problems is it more or less likely that change will be ushered in? I think the escape valve (leaving) mentality is short sighted and does nothing to resolve the bigger issues that a entire state or country is facing.
