Which Sealant would you choose?

If you feel you need to re-seal every 2 months, then you desperately need this forum and to read alot because you don't know what you're doing or you have a ton of time on your hands.:giggle:

 

..... And Collinite should not be hard to remove if you do it right. If you leave anything on too long it will be a problem. Do one panel, immediately remove, move on to next panel, etc. Thin, thin, thin.

 

So you're saying that anyone who either waxes or seals their vehicles every 2 months or more does not know what they are doing, or has too much time on their hands?

That makes no sense mate.

 

You can leave Power Lock on overnight and it's not a problem to remove. Have a good one!

 

pushing the envelope of excess is what this is all about! Before i put Cquartz on my DD i was apply MPL once a month, why? Why not? plus it pushes the durability life span farther out. I do know what Im doing, so it must mean I have too much time on my hands. LOL

Now I apply reload every other week......... that shit is awesome by the way.

 

Just an FYI...tried some JS 109 that I had laying around and never used. Application was ok and it looks decent. I am curious to see how it compares to MPL or BF.

 

You are right. I stand corrected. I was interpreting the statement to be those that "need" to as opposed to those that "like" to seal/wax that often. My mistake.

But a question.... If you seal again in 2 months without going through the entire wash/clay/polish/clean/protect process, aren't you just putting another new but less-effective layer over a 2 month worn layer? Or do you perform that entire process every 2 months (which to me is nuts even if you like doing it)?

 

Maybe our bird's bombs are more acidic here in WNY, but 845 SMOKES MPL and absolutely embarrasses BFWD in the protection department AND in the longevity department. The look should be coming from the prep work so its my firm opinion you should be focusing on protection. 845 hands down. All are easy on easy off - 845 just does everything else better.

 

JS109 does look nice, give it one or two washes and its basically gone.

 

Has anyone tried 915 on powerlock? Sorry dont mean to highjack.

 

I remember 915 isn't great with layering, had some cloud effects on some sealants. Layering is pretty useless IMO, just pick one or the other.

 

I have used the 915 over top 845 with great results, adds that slickness that 845 lacks and adds additional gloss. I personnally think it is a great combo.
