So it's a fine Sunday to practice my rotary polisher on my dad's beater van. Over the past few weekends I've been trying to get some hours on the polisher but there a flock of angry birds that always drop bombs on the car, they never miss and they always drop them every time I'm working the van. So I decided enough was enough, I bought a pop-up Garage from Canadian Tire in hopes I would get to work on the van without having any interruptions.

So I started around 10 am and went for lunch at 1 pm, was back at around 2 pm.

As I'm approaching the tent I hear fluttering sounds in the tent, and then I see them.As soon as I opened the flap to enter, they flew out (luckily I ducked(no pun intended) and they missed my head or I would have a beak shaped hold in my forehead right now)
They also managed to accomplish there mission:shakehead:.

On a side note, why am I not able to see any marring on silver paint, I was using 500W lamps and a LED light. I saw them better in the sunlight?
I also used the flash test on my Camera but was still coming up short

    That sucks man.

I am also wondering what to do to truly reveal swirls and marring on light colored cars indoors (white, silver, etc.)
Spot lights only work on very dark cars from what I have seen. I can use the same spot light on my silver car and there wouldn't be any scratches but in the sun you can see them.

is 3m sun gun the solution?

Poor luck. I've had poor luck lately as well. Got hit by bird bombs 3 times over the past 3 weeks.

In one spot, I already see marring on my car.

I have not had a chance to wash and fully inspect the damage.

Does your tent fully close? If not, return your tent and get an enclosure that can fully close.

    Sucks about the birds...
You should buy a shotgun :)

With light & metallic colors, sometimes I have to be in a dark garage, or something equivalent, to see defects.
I know that doesn't really help much in your case, but I've found that removing the major light source and only
using my lights, it makes it easier for my eyes to see the defects on that sort of paint.

In your case, I'd say polish a panel, pull it out in the sun and inspect, and then move it back inside
    and repeat the process.

Your not going to believe this but the flap was actually down, I just didn't zip it up because I don't know they were after me. I don't even know how the pair got in.
