I sold my 06 WRX to a friend and he decided to compound the car. Well once he pulled it out in the sun it was covered in swirls. he wants me to fix his "mess up" so the plan of attack was gonna be 205 with a black LC pad on a Flex D/A. That should be enough to clean it up i would think?
Really hard to say for sure, without knowing the color of the paint, and how badly swirled it is. Have any Pics ? Meguiars 205 is a really nice finishing compound, but I have never tried it with such a soft finishing pad like the black one. Do you have a L/C White Pad to try ? If you have a Flex 3401VRG. it will be a great machine to do the correction. Dan F
I would try blue pad if you have it... Blue uber Green uber. White pad But ive had success with blue and 205. Depends on the paint.
It depends on the clearcoat. However, if i use a Flex DA and m205, I will opt for LC white to remove holos/light swirls.
Depending on the amount and depth of the swirls you may need something more aggressive than M205. That being said it all depends on how your paint responds and how much correction is really needed. Most auto-parts stores and major super stores (Walmart, Target etc) now carry Megs Ultimate Compound. I also suggest the Megs UC product due to the fact that it is easy to "run down to the store" and purchase. Ultimate Compound is not as aggressive as M105. UC is inexpensive and a bit more aggressive than M205. I might suggest trying the UC first with the Flex and LC orange pads the follow the UC with the M205/white. Just a side note...IMHO the Megs UC is a LOT easier and cleaner to work with than straight M105.
it's World Rally Blue Pearl.as far as lighting goes all I have is halogen lights.will I be able to see buffer swirls with it?he said he only sees it when it's outside(natural light).I might have a blue pad or 2.id have to check.again I'm using the flex dual action not the buffer
