Did this for a friend. Who bought the car off of someone who had painted it inside their garage and later sold the car. Paint work had tons of Fisheyes, and was filled with a horrible orange peel throughout the car. This was the reason he had asked me to do this.
As you may imagine, this was a ton of work. Although I did have him to help me, I was really tired afterwards.
My friend was the one wetsanding as he said he had done it before, and I was going around the car polishing it after him. Turned out to be a great way to do this.

    Washed with Dawn.
    Clayed using OTC Mothers clay
    1500 grit sand paper.
Compounded using 3M Rubbing Compound and Presta 9in Wool pad. Very strong combo, but barely heats up the paint. Which is GREAT!!!
Refined using M205 and Super Finish depending on panel with Uber Blue
    LSP was Colli 845
Multiple IPA wipedowns under LED's and sunlight to check my work.

And please excuse the fact that this worked so nicely that you can clearly see me in the pictures. I told my friend i would not be happy until we could shave in the reflections. And from the smile on his face throughout the process I think this was achieved.

All pictures were taken using my T-mobile Mytouch 4g.
Here is work on the front door. I was not able to snap pictures of everything as i had to get everything done the same day.
Showing the difference between a sanded front door and a compounded front fender.

    And finally the flake.

These are all the photos I have of the car, but i will ask my friend to send me some more.
Overall goal was to make the car more presentable, as he will be trying to sell it.

Thank you for reading this, Its not easy to put these together, I will try to snap better pictures next time. As i didnt even think of bringing a better camera with me.

Comments and questions are very welcome

    Kaban Welcome to Detailing

    That came out great!

I used to like these cars and the Maximas of the 90's but when I started looking for a beater daily driver.... every single Maxima I looked at was a rust pile.... rust on pretty much every panel from the inside and out. After seeing about 10 rusty Maximas I quit and bought a different brand. It's a shame because otherwise they are alright cars.

Wow, what a difference! Nice work man. I doubt he will have too much of an issue selling it now.

i have two 2000 nissan maxima. one is white and the other one is silver with over 130,000 miles and none of them have any rust on the body yet. there are always parked outside and the city uses a lot of salt during the winter. just washed my car yesterday and even though there are a lot of swirl marks but no rust.

This is an 05 with 130k miles and a transmission problem. The paint and interior are the only.good things about the car. No rust though, just a terrible paint job.
Thank you guys for the responses. Like I said im working on getting some pictures of the car in the sun
Chicago weather has been nice this weekend
