Finally got them off unexpectedly today! With the sand blasting, compounding, polishing and chiseling done it was like my teeth got a detail job!

I can't be more happy it the way they look. From teeth with spaces, sideways crooked, and not having room- some were coming out in the high gum-line. My teeth were a wreck. They advised I rip out 4 teeth (molars) to make room. I did not want to as I wanted to see if it could be done without. We agreed, and he warned me the front may be at an angle. Every visit they were looking better and finally, no teeth needed to be removed!

All in all, despite the $$$ (And I mean, used car money), its well worth it to have a healthy and beautiful smile for your lifetime.

Teeth are feeling smooth as glass! Does anyone have some safe whitening recommendations?

I use Crest Whitestrips, generally though I only use them for a week or so and my teeth are white enough for me. Only problem I have with them is they sometimes make my teeth more sensitive but that goes away after a day or so, and it's never really bad. Gotta love the feeling of having your braces off (although I freakin' hated the feeling of the brackets breaking off and the drill grinding off all the glue.)

Doesn't matter if you could have bought a small house with it, very much worth it! Congrats.

Oh yea. I know people who didn't wear their retainers and have had to get braces again.

Permanent retainer wire placed on the back! For life :/ Sorta bothers me, and flossing is a mission and a half, but if it keeps my teeth perfect for life, thats good for me!

thats great. i had braces from 5th grade till about 7th grade. by the time i hit 10th grade they were going crooked again. so the dentest had me remove my 4 molers said that it would stop my teeth from moving. well my 11th grade year guess what? my teeh were still getting wrose so he said lets wait 6 months and see what happens. they got worse and of course he waited another 6 months, said he would get them fixed. by that time my teeh got worse my sr pictures got taken and here i am now 23 years old. so now i went to a new dentist and am prolly going to be getting invisaline to make them good again. but like you said it will be the price of a used car lol.

All 3 of my Stepkids inherited crappy teeth from their Dad and had to have braces for years. I got them Opalesence brand teeth whitener system, and they look great. The product comes in different strengths and it can make gums sensitive if it gets on them from the trays and stays there all night, etc., but the sensitivity goes away.
You can also get this brand treatment done at the Dentist but they charge several hundred for it.

Hey, maybe you talk to the Dentist, and trade a full blown detail of his Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, etc., for the treatment, which includes full mouth trays, which you put the product in??

I am sure that there are other treatment brands that work great, but I know from personal experience, that this one really works great.

And yes, please keep using your Retainer !! :)
