On Saturday I did an enhancement detail on a Golf TDI, the car is generally well looked after by the owner who had just had the alloys reconditioned by a company in the town, boot had been debadged when he bought it. When he bought it due to some marks and swirls on the car he asked the dealer if they would sort them before he went to collect the car, and when he collected it looked ok but after a few weeks the marks/swirls started to come back. The owner also suspected after buying the car it had some paint work done on the passenger side, which look highly likely going by the paint readings and loose trim on the car. Products and equipment used Dodo Lime prime Uber microfiber towels Uber drying towel 3m yellow pads 150mm 75 mm Valet pro bilberry wheel cleaner Valet pro tyre gel Valet pro orange pre wash Valet pro citrus bling Valet pro PH neutral snow foam Meg`s hyper dressing Meg’s hyper wash Meg’s last touch Ultra fine blue clay bar Various wheel brushes Makita rotary polisher Karcher pressure washer Snow foam gun Noodle wash mitt Sheepskin wash mitt Microfiber drying towel Snow foam gun 3m masking tape Chemical guys Jetseal 109 Megs APC Chemical guy’s black light Chemical guys V7 Race glaze 55 wax The car before I start I started by giving the car a spray down with the orange pre wash, this was then blasted off with the pressure washer and then the car was given a thick coating of foam made up of Valet pro snow foam and a shot of Megs hyper wash, grills and gaps cleaned with a small detailing brush. Whilst this did its stuff I cleaned the wheels using a weak mix of bilberry wheel cleaner and various wheel brushes and the noodle wash mitt, no need for a strong approach as wheels are in a mint condition after just been powder coated. No pictures of this though, this was then blasted off with the pressure washer, and then the car was given another coat of foam and washed using Meg’s hyper wash and the 2 bucket method and a sheepskin wash mitt. The car was then rinsed off using a open ended hose and left wet before claying using Meg`s last touch and clean your car’s ultra fine blue clay bar then rewashed using the same method and dried using a spray of last touch and uber microfiber drying towel. Various marks around the car noticed as I had worked my way round the car claying The car was then taped up using 3m masking tape, a couple of quick 50/50 using the lime prime and 3m yellow polishing pads before getting on with the rest car Then started to work my way round the rest of the car After polishing my way round the car with the rotary the car was then given another coat of snow foam to clean off polish residue. Pressure washer rinsed and dried using a spray of last touch and uber microfiber drying towel. First coat of Chemical guys jet seal 109 was put on the alloys inside and out using a small microfiber pad, buffed off after 20mins The car was then given a coat of the Chemical guy’s black light again using the rotary polisher and a small glazing pad; this was left for approx 20min and then buffed using the uber microfiber towels. The car was then given a coat of the Race glaze 55 wax applied by hand and again buffed using the uber microfiber towels; the car was given a final wipe down with the Chemical guys V7 Some reflection shots The wheels were given another coat of Jetseal 109 and the arches where given a coat of Meg`s hyper dressing and the tyres giving a coat of Valet pro tyre dressing. All glass cleaned with neat Valet pro citrus bling. Leaving me with this.
Very nice work! I am really liking the way Lime Prime works with the 3M yellow I think I am sold on it what rpm ranges do you work LP at as a one step man. I already have Uber yellow pads in both 5.5" and 4" so I will use that via my Makita 9227C.
Why use Jetseal on wheels, can you please explain? Isnt something more durable like a nice colli wax a better choice?
I find i get longer protection out of the jetseal, i`ve even tried dedicated wheel sealents but still find the jetseal out lasts them by ages
