Does anybody have experience polishing an airstream trailer? My buddy is getting his ready to sell and was quoted around $2k by the dealership for a polish and seal. He would rather have me do the work and pay me, so I told him I would do some research about the process and get back to him. I don't want to get sucked into a never-ending job so please let me know if you have experience with this type of project. I will get over to his place and try out some different methods of attack on it but for now, please don't be shy to share your experience. Thanks!:thumb:
Shane, Wow., if that's one of those aluminum things, you are going to be so busy ! I have no experience on that, but I bet that guy Renny Doyle of Attention to Details has, since he has done big jet aircraft. Perhaps check out his site, call/email him too? Good Luck with this ! Dan F
Thanks Dan, If I end up doing the job, I will probably see if tdekany can help provide some local muscle. I will look into the contact you mention.
Hope this is okay to post but did a little digging and found this great article about a guy who polished his Airstream. It hasn't been updated since 2003, so there are probably different/better products on the market now, but it will probably be a good read: Polishing
Some crazy projects on the horizon! Beyond this airstream, Dave has a contact w/ a 65' yacht that needs detailing. Will definitely call in some reinforcements for that one.
