Just bought this car a few weeks ago. It is a 1997 M3 that has actually been taken care of by the previous owners. It is high mileage, but you would never know it by looking at its condition. The previous owner had this car sitting outside, so it definitely needed some attention with a claybar. He kept up with waxing the car, but it needed a good polish. The paint is in good shape, and it had paintwork done (front end) a few years back. The most time consuming part of the detail was the clay bar, taking around 3 hours, including some breaks. I wanted to do a final polish as there was not too much marring. The car is not perfect, but this little detail definitely helped! I am still working on the interior, and will get pics up when I finish. Wheels: -Degreaser -Clay bar -SSR 2.5 by hand -FK1 1000p Tires: -New Bridgestones :worship2: -ArmorAll Exterior: -Dawn wash -Claybar (extensive) -PC with Meg's yellow pad -Menz 106 -FK1 1000p Trim and weatherstripping: -Aerospace 303 Before: Wax residue. You don't know how much this bugs me! Paint transfer: Nasty door handle: Nasty trim: Interior needs help: After: Finished trim and polishing: "The list" - Things I will be doing over the next few weeks/months. -Paint calipers -Replace some window trim -Replace window tint -Replace headlights -Touch-up paint on scratches -LS1/T56 motor swap
Proper detailing on a proper car with an exquisite engine and body style, this post should be rated X! this is Bimmer porn, and I'm shamelessly getting excited over it .. drool...
Wo'h, the plan is already in action!? That's awesome. Such a beauty already, with that engine= pure sexyness.
That's a classic, great to see you're swapping out the headlights. Looks like a nice example. How many miles on her?
