My friend was telling me that his dad has a 1972 Pontiac Le Mans with a 400ci. He said his dad's car is due for a detail and he'd really like to get it done for him soon. I'm pretty excited to work on the car, and I get home after playing poker in Atlantic City and get an e-mail from a Surf City Garage rep doing a follow up on how I reviewed their products last year, most of which I am very impressed with, and they say they have more products for me to try. A few of you might know that they had given me 4 prototype products that hadn't been released to the public, and still might not be. I plan on really testing these products on the Le Mans. 1.Black Max VRT, which isn't a restoration type product but is extremely dry to the touch after application and has some water beading features. 2. Top End Conv. top cleaner- I was able to use it on one pretty well maintained 2007 Corvette with a black top, and it cleaned well and rinsed very clean with no soap residue. I am going to test this further on a clearly better candidate due to its age. 3. Hit the spot carpet cleaner- pretty run of the mill product, obviously used for removing stains. Works pretty well but I haven't brought out the big guns yet. 4. Wipe out hand polish- made for hand use and not machine. Haven't had a good candidate. Other favorites of mine are the glass cleaner, tire dressing (AMAZING), grime destroyer, wheel cleaner, soap, quick detailers, interior spray, leather, metal polishes...... the list goes on. I'm surprised I like so many products from one line. The LSPs are good, but nothing to write home about, which is hard in this day and age. By the sounds of the e-mail, they have even more products in the works and I can't wait to sink my teeth into them. I'm planning on doing a nice writeup and testing most of the products I have. So since I'm so lucky, what would you guys like me to review in depth that you haven't seen before? I know a lot of people have tried one or two products, but I'd like to focus on the prototypes and other gems. Fire away!
Lucky sumbish. I REALLY like their RTGD and BBTP. In fact, BBTP is my go-to tire dressing. Stupid easy to apply, and has the perfect look for me (more on the matte side)
Yeah their tire dressing is amazing, period. The last detailing meet I applied it to the tires of a C-Class that Evereth was detailing and it got a lot of compliments. I find that you can apply it neat, just use more or less depending on the style you want. Great product.
Just gave it a shot on my mom's Expedition (black). She has some really nasty defects all over the car because they decide to run it through the car wash. I polished it once and they ruined it the next week so I refuse to touch the car anymore. The wipeout is meant to diminish smaller localized scratches in hard to get places. I had a hard time getting it to finish down on black under a really bright LED, but it definitely made a bit of a difference. I know I used too much product too so I probably prevented it from breaking down like it should. I just get pissed off and lose motivation when dealing with that thing. On lighter colored cars this would be a nice product to have, on really dark it may take a bit of effort to use but then again I only tried it once. It's a localized product, not a large scale polish.
Sweet deal! Congrats bro! The Grime Destroyer is wicked! Im looking forward to some reviews from you,the polish sounds like it might be a good player for behind door handles that are mildly F'd up.
