I am trying to accomplish a deep glossy wet look and a high shine. Not too sure which products to buy yet. Here is what I am planning on doing: 1. Wash 2. Clay bar 3. Wash 4. Polish/pre wax cleaner (not sure which come first)? 5. Glaze 6. Sealant (multiple coats) 7. Wax Does a polish come before a pre wax cleaner or is it the other way around? What do you think…? Zymol said there waxes don’t work well over sealants. Is this true for all waxes? Do you prefer Zymol or P21s? Is this the correct steps? any feedback would be great!
Hello there, Seems like you're just starting out in the world of detailing! So what you got there is a good idea but heres what you really should do: 1. Wash 2. Dry (or Claybar while drying which is what I do usually if I need to Clay) 3. Clay Bar 4. Polish 5. Wipe Down/Pre Wax Cleaner (to make sure all the polish compounds off/no dust/etc) 6. Glaze (you don't really have to glaze, Pre Wax Cleaner usually does a good job, some glazes are more awesome than others tho!) 7. Sealant OR Wax (you dont have to put a sealant as base layer if you dont want to, we just generally do it for durability) 8. Top up with Wax (Carnuba wax will be the one giving you the wet look) Most waxes top sealant no problem, unless theyre petroleum based and heavy in what you call ugh the solvent yes, the bottom layer will not get eaten away. I personally think Zymol makes great products (tho I have never used their wax) but P21s isnt bad either. Their waxes are on like different money band anyhow with Zymol having a larger range of waxes and price and P21s has 2 I believe. I'm a big fan of Swissvax tho cuz its swiss and sexy but its also a wallet gouger. So let us know if you need any recommendations for products for each aspect, give us a budget/how much you're willing to spend/how deep you wanna go into detailing/etc. We got plenty of detailers/sponsors/retailers/manufacturers here to help ya out.
It's really all about prep. Wax or sealant wise i would suggest read the forums or search as views are varied. Personally, as a wax i use either Collinite 476s or 845.
