What's the worst car you've ever driven?

    I saw this topic on another forum and it seemed to do well, and since everyone on here has driven plenty of cars I figured I'd give it a shot. What is the worst car you've ever driven? Not necessarily worst due to lack of maintenance or care from the owner (because even a nice car can become a POS if neglected), but just the worst car you've ever had the misfortune to to drive.

    So far there is nothing in my mind that stands out as the worst...I've driven some bad cars but none of them stuck out as being truly horrible. For example, you can't really say that the Dodge Intrepid, Chevy Lumina, or Buick Reatta are amazing cars, but you can't really say that they are horrible in all respects either. But there are some cars out there that should be avoided at all costs...so post away.

    The Dodge Stratus for me (I dont recall the year). I did not own one but had to pick one up for a client. EVERYTHING about the car sucked. Its one of my regular details so condition is perfect,(Pats own back) LOL. The power, the interior quality, comfort,you name it I hate this car.IMO there are a LOT of POS cars out there,the Smart car for example. Stupid,Stupid Stupid. But it put a grin on my face when a customer let me take it for a ride. :bla2:

    '88 Chevy Spectrum Express. My parents bought it new when they first got married, and it has been thoroughly beat. My sister used it when she first learned to drive, then I did, and now my brother has it. It's on its last leg lol. No power anything, the heater fan was either off or on high, everything was falling apart, and it was the slowest thing ever. Interior is stained with everything from coffee to oil, dash is cracked in a few places, drivers seat is sunk in... Truly a terrible car to drive.

    Opel Astra 1.2 in Switzerland. Had a decent interior, nice handling, and powerful brakes, but it had to be one of the slowest cars on the planet. But that's due to a pet peeve of mine, I can't stand cars that are just too slow. When I got back home, I looked up its specs on the interwebs and apparently the 1.2 motor is only putting out 77hp.

    That thing is powerful compared to my Beetle...try 53 horsepower...at the crank...in 1972. I don't want to know the figure now.

    Out of the many cars I have driven, there are two specific examples that stand out above the rest.

    1) a lifted Wrangler on mud bogger tires and the sway bars disconnection. I interned at a performance car shop in CT a bunch of summers ago and had to deliver this monstrosity to the owner's meeting location about 30 miles from the shop. That think was aweful: impossible to keep it in a straight line on the highway, felt like the tires were rolling over the rim so far in turns that they would pop their beads, and a general sense that the car was made of jello. I thought it was this one example due to the lift/sways but my friend's stock Wrangler is almost as bad.

    2) 1996 Chevy Cavalier ls convertible w/ automatic: this doesn't need much of an introduction, but the engine was terrible, the throttle was super sensitive in the first 1/4 of its travel and did almost nothing in the next 3/4, the chassis was wobbly and floppy, interior quality was atrocious, and there was a good half turn of play in the steering wheel before the wheels actually did anything.

    Fair enough but what's the weight? The Astra was around 2,200lbs.

    Lada 5,I lived in Russia for 4 years and it was a car for our local staff to drive. Any accident in a Lada is a fatality.

    Clients 06 Dodge Caravan. What a POS - and its in good condition. We drove one when we bought our 06 Sienna and decided to spend the extra $15k on the Toyota. Thank god we did.

    I've owned;

    1998 Grand Prix GTP
    1998 Ford Taurus
    2007 VW GTI

    Own;

    2001 Buick Regal
    2008 Chevy Cobalt

    and I must say the Cobalt is the biggest pos that I have owned. It's going in tomorrow for it's 3rd steering column replacement, Gm has replaced the front suspension twice, headlights, foam side bolsters in seats, tried to fix a water leak on 6 different occasions, and the list goes on. Most of the work was done before 40,000 miles.
