A friend of mine decided to lease a 2011 BMW 328I back in November. This is the first detail that I've done on it as we just had two big snow storms and the car was in need of a good bath. As well as the interior needed to be cleaned. The car came with the typical swirl option from the dealer, but this was just a wash, wax, and interior job. The paint correction will hopefully be coming this spring. Products/method used Exterior Car was first rinsed off with my pressure washer, hooked up to my utility sink inside my house. Tires/wheels were cleaned with Chemical Guys sticky gel wheeel cleaner (for rims), Chemical guys greenClean apc diluted 3:1 and agitated with various brushes ONR with 2 bucket method - both buckets changed out half way through Sheep skin wash mitt was used Multiple Uber plush mfs Stoners invisible glass with 2 waffle weave mfs IPA wipe down to check the paint condition Pinnacle XMT 180 High Gloss applied via PC & red LC CCS pad DP Wheel glaze was applied to the rims Poorboys Natural look dressing - hadn't tried it yet and wanted to test it out. I typically wouldn't have bothered dressing the tires since it's winter and the New England roads are nasty. Interior Vacuumed out Rubber floor mats were washed with CG greenclean apc diluted 3:1 and agitated with brush 1Z cockpit premium Dressed with 303 Aerospace Various Brushes and MFs Stoners Invisible Glass Here is the car on arrival I pulled the car into my garage after the tires/wheels were cleaned and car was given a good rinse. Pic of that to see how small my 1 car garage is. Surprisingly my Avalanche actually fits in there! After the IPA wipe down I found swirls and scratches galore! And the afters. I didn't have time to snap a lot of good after shots. I finished the job about 20 minutes before the Pats kick off. If I had only known I would have spent my time taking good pics instead of watching that mess! Even the wood trim on the interior had swirls! Thanks for reading!
great job on the bimmer. I still cant believe the pats lost. cant wait till next season and training camp. All I can say is go C's and B's
Yeah I'm going to need to get back in shape! She's only one of my friends who come to me for their details and most of my friends cars are this bad or worse.
It was about 28 degrees out. I only cleaned the wheels/tires, and sprayed it off outside. The car had a layer of ice on it once I was done doing that. So, i pulled it into my garage and turn on my propane heater. Ended up soaking my garage floor, but was well worth it to stay warm!
I actually didn't remove the swirls. One pic is with the flash to show the swirls and the other is without. I am going to tackle this job on her next detail in the spring.
