So I was reading on another thread somewhere that waffle weave MF towels aren't that great, or shouldn't be used for drying. Did some searching and that didn't seem to be the case around here. Any thought on that??

Was getting ready to do an order from Pakshak and was thinking about getting some MICROPAK Ultra-Microband Plush Micro Fiber Towel 25" x 36" just for drying duty. I've never used a WW towel and never had an issue drying with regular MF.

You guys got any opinions you can share on the subject or on this towel for drying duty?

If you rub your paint hard with any towel it will scratch. Waffle weaves are great for absorbing, I use the Showroom FX ones and I've never had a single issue other than colors bleeding in the washer.

I like my waffle weave. You really don't need any pressure to suck up water, you'll be fine :thumb:

I use them in conjunction with Optimum Spray. Add some lube, and gloss.
Im fine with it. Minor correction from time to time. Very minor. I wax all the time as well.

WW are really good at soaking up water from a wet surface.. they do not scratch paint ... Make the order you will be happy you did...

Well, I've used alot of ww towels. You just gotta find the right ones. Some move water around. Some soak it right up. Some have to be damp before they'll soak up water.

Try some ShowroomFX ww's and PakShak ww's.

I do not believe ww can absorb as much water as other towels such as the Viking towel that I also use. The Viking can absorb more water but it gets heavier and less manageable. I think one key is to just have plenty of towels.

Leaf blower + Fluffers + DG AW = bye bye water!

I agree and it doesn't streak like mf's do.

I mainly use WWs to dry. The absolute best ones I have found and love to use are from PAC, they're called Big Blue II towels. They are huge, thick and very soft. Absorb a lot of water as well. You just use the weigh of the towel to move them around the paint. Little to no pressure and you will be fine. I've never marred the paint by using WWs

I usually give it a good "once over" with my Showroom FX waffle weave, then go over the entire car again with the shop vac to get the water out from all the cracks. Then get the last bit of water with the WW again. Done.

I only use WW for drying. I try to minimize contact though but using the water drying method by taking the nosel off the end of the hose and running water over the car and letting gravity dry it, that is if you have a decent LSP on it. This will remove a lot of the water then I blot with the WW with any remaining water.

I stopped using wwmf towels about 2 years ago. Partly due to how they age. They are good when they are brand new, but they can get hard after a few washes.

When you have Nissan Gtr with paint like butter on your books, a ww mf drying towel is not something i feel safe using.

This is just my POV and another angle to look at

I use a WW to try after every wash without any problems. Presoak it in warm water and it works fine.

i use ww also. it seems though for me the older they get and more they are used and washed, the better they work. i also throw in vinger with my wash some times to make them absorb better.

One tip is to sheet off most of the water so that that towel use is minimized. :)

In my experience, I do find WW towels to become not as soft over time. However, I'm not exactly sure how/why it happens but it's possible that it's due to over-drying the WWs.

I am telling you guys: If you don't own a blower, go to Home Depot, spend $30 and get the cheapest Homelite blower they have. I have used it 3 times and love it. I spend roughly 10 minutes trying to get nearlyall the water off and then spray panels with a light mist of DG AW and wipe clean wity my 16x24 CG Fluffer MF's. Pretty good method if you ask me. :applause2:

Its all about the LSP doing its sheeting job, then blotting or using air via Compressor or blower. I use WW for blotting areas that have not dried.

Get a 150MPH blower at lowes, HD or where ever, they are better then compressed air IMO.
