All in one polish?

As I begin to detail some friends cars this spring, I am searching for a "all in one" polish to use on their cars to cut down on time. I am really only used Megs 105/205 (that's what I have currently) and am not a huge fan of the amount of time it takes to use them.

I saw this on CG and was wondering what its about and if anyone has good/bad experience with it?

POLISH + SHINE + SEALANT in one.


But seriously, please post what you like to use for friends or customer cars that don't entail 3 or 4 step processes. If I could get away with a polish like this that cuts a little, polishes, and seals, then I could afford to lay some nice quality wax down after.

opt poli-seal will remove fine scratches and leave some protection behind

Poliseal is your friend. Some people like Megs D151 too, but I've never used it.

 

its better just to get light polish and sealant separetly. get menz 203 or 106 and power lock. there wouldnt be that big of difference in time to get those 2 applied
sealant application takes maybe 15 min on whole car via PC

 

I have heard rave reviews about Opti-Seal....but will it cut some swirls out as well? I want something that will cut quite a bit and polish as well. I can handle the sealing or waxing. What is everyone useing for a medium cut compound? I a musing the 105/205 combo but 105 generates soooo much dust. It seems like it takes a while to work as well.

 

Meant Opti-Seal. SO you guys like it, eh? What pads are you using with it? Would say an Uber orange or LC orange pad to the trick with this stuff? Also, are you just going straight to a wax after using this because of it's sealing properties?

 

I agree with Misha's statements ... you need to decide what you really want to accomplish. Poli-seal won't get you a lot of correction. In fact, IMO I haven't seen the really light correction that some people claim. I use it whenever I want to improve the paint without spending tons of time. You save some time with Poliseal because you don't have to tape trim and you don't have to wash the car after using it. I still top it with a wax because it doesn't last that long.

If you can spend a little more time, Powerfinish with a green uber pad/lc white pad will provide great results on most paints. It barely dusts at all.

 

Opti seal is a paint sealant not a polish, poly seal is from optimum and is a great cleaner wax, but mostly a chemical cleaner vs correction ability, with a polishing pad I've gotten about 20% correction ability from poly-seal but does a great job cleaning the paint. If your looking for more correction ability use Meg's d151 or pinnacle xmt360 both provide about 35-40% defect removal, but for a systems approach the poly seal followed up with opti seal is a great package deal

 

OK, what brand is Powerfinish? What about Werkstat Prime...JL really suggests this to me.

it's a cleaner only, a good one ill admit but a bit of a pain to remove

 

Well it certainly sounds like PO203 is what I am after. But man is that stuff pricey eh!?

 

If you need a good amount of cut, equivalent to even 205 and want decent durability you are screwed. A lot of people say Poliseal is the answer, but in my book it falls short (and I love Optimum stuff). It is amazingly easy to use and looks fantastic when first applied. It however doesn't have much cut, it fills and it doesn't last very long at all.

If you want it all, something like Powerfinish followed by a decent Sealant or Durable Wax. If you want good cut and good looks, but are ok with so-so durability, FK215 or Megs D151 are fantastic products. If you want a bit of cut and amazing durability, ZAIO can't be beat, no other AIO lasts longer.

 

Jax Wax Swirl Remover is a great one step product. It is a polish,glaze and wax all in one.Works great on black paint. I use it all of the time.

 

If you wanted something with a medium amount of cut that still finishes well I've done both P203 from Menzerna and most recently just M205 on a White pad. Although both of these on a green pad I believe is better. Followed both with Menzerna Powerlook and the results were great.

 

D151 is a pretty great 1 step polish and actually I think so is 205, it cleans up the paint pretty well. The "sealing" that 151 advertises definitely leaves something to be desired, thats alright i guess for if you're going to lay down a nice wax later anyway like you say you are though. I agree with the guy above that a green lake country pad makes a great 1 step.

 

I use Poli Seal for my one steps. Very little correction capability but leaves the paint very slick and glossy.

Powerfinish is also a good product for a one step polish on a orange/white pad. It finished nice enough that you can can go LSP right after.

 

Megs D151 shares the same abrasive technology as 105/205. It is my go to all-n-one for most DD jobs. As I usually top it with optiseal. S203 is a great one step polish which you have to top.

 

No worries on price. A little goes a long way. After initially priming the pad with doing a 2' x 2' section, you really only need about 3 pea sized drops at most to go from there. I was just working on a car today and was thinking this. 16 oz bottles that Phil offers will last you a while.

 

Meg D151 is my go to if I am looking for correction, FK 215 or Poli Seal if I am looking for more of a chemical cleaner with light correction. I always top any of them with a sealant or wax. I want to try some menz 203
