So the application of 2 layers of Aquartz on the rear windshield lasted about 1 month and probably a week or 2. It definitely has lots all its effectiveness after going through some harsh -ve celcius weather and definetly did not return after ONR in garage.
So now im back to having to use my wipers cuz water would bunch up and not slide.

Anyone know how durable the cquartz has been on rear windshields?

It would be intersting to hear from others in different climates and see how the results vary.

Well, Aquartz is the wrong product to apply to glass in my opinion. After a couple months, the initial beading wears off with Aquartz which results in little beading and slow sheeting which is not idea for glass. The coating is still there, but it is not easily seen due to the nature of the coating (one thing I did not like about it when I used it).

Cquartz has held up for 3 months on my windows on my car that is outside 24/7 and beads/releases water extremely well. The beading and sheeting speeds are just as when I applied it 3 months ago, it is only one layer as well.

icic, maybe i'll hit my rear glass with a fine polish and then apply my cquartz sample
I had to make do with aquartz before the cquartz arrived =p

Why waste a expensive products on glass? I am only using nano glass treatments on windows, since they will last longer.

It was suppose to provide a long term durability, which cquartz the new formula should. Also you only use a lil product for each layer so its not too bad in terms of it being "expensive".
The detailing bug always includes buying alot of products and trying them all out LOL

why buying several products for each type of surface?? glass, paint, rubber, plastic, fabric, wheels???
i can ask you also this, all in all it will cost you more !!
and im not sure at all your nano glass treatment will last longer as well !!!

I don't know how long Aquartz should last on a glass and wheather it even should be used there, but I'm using G|techiniq G1 (bought a full kit of G1, G2, G4) on all three cars...so far it lasted 1 month without any issues...love that tight beading+sheeting action.

I use Opti-Seal. I've had a quote on my rear window for several months and it still beads like crazy.

yeah, that's the cheapest way to do it...They only charge 7 quid for shipping...
G1 when properly applied is meant to last 2 years or 25k miles...

So far, my 2 coats of Cquartz on my windshield is easily outperforming my previous Aquapel coating. It sheets more quickly and water beads up more tightly, I have been nothing but impressed with Cquartz. I really need to finish polishing the rest of my car over Christmas break and apply Cquartz to the whole car!

I put it on all the windows of my MKX. I will post the job so you guys can see it. I just did it a week ago so I will not be able to judge it for a while.

  19. Richy, I know you have used Opti Coat on the paint...did you try it on glass? I have been very pleased with it s performance on glass. I have not treated my glass with anything else and it's still there and working at the three year mark. If you have some left you should try it. I know you prefer C quartz on paint.

No Chris, I have not. With its ease of application, glass would be a good surface for it. I did put it on the windscreen of that jet ski I did, but that hardly counts. I'll put some on the wife's windscreen to test it. Good suggestion. On my Lincoln, I put the CQ on every window.
