I know paste carnauba waxes can make the windshield wipers chatter. Has anyone tried to coat the windshield with 845 before? Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure Misha puts 845 on all his exterior glass but I'll let him chime in on the issue.

Well I reordered a bottle anyway. I think I'm going to severely condense my collection and 845 sits in there perfectly. If it works on windshields, it can basically work everywhere.

I use 501/105 combo religiously on glass. Then dg aquawax. Amazing combo.

I've done it before. No wiper chatter, but it didn't seem to peform that well for some reason. Haven't tried it since.

good thread. what do you folks use to keep your glass silky smooth like it once was on the showroom floor.

I have some light water spots i need to address but then i would like to treat all my glass to get that smooth feeling back again.

501 usually works on waterspots and decontaminates glass if you run it on a white LC pad or equivalent. Glass Science Glass Scrub is also pretty good stuff. As far as waterspots go, it all depends how baked in they are. If they are bad, like I had on my truck earlier in the year, use a waterspot remover.

I use aquapel and swear by it. I put that stuff on my windshield once and it lasts 3 months solid beading.

a few weeks ago here in seattle it was raining heavier than I have seen in years, so bad that the traffic on I5 went from 65 an hour down to 45 an hour. everyone slowed down cause so much rain making the cars hydro.

I drove the whole way for an hour with my wipers off and I could see like there was no rain. I tried turning the wipers on and could not see. so I left them off the whole way. cars were splashing gallons at a time all over my s2000 and the stuff splashed right off.

later that night I parked the car and watched the rain trickle off the glass like SV crystal rock was on it or something exotic.

    swear by this product

I have used 105 on it's own and durability was horrible...I didn't even get 2 weeks out of it...perhaps an application of 601 prior to 105 could fix the problem...

I've tried Fuzion on my exterior glass and the results were fantastic.

I use Collinite 845 on the windsheilds that are coated with ClearPlex with fantastic results.

It could. I don't own 601. I always clay the glass, then 501 via PC and black 3m waffle pad, then 105. I will wipe down with DG aquawax at the end. I only use my wipers when driving under 30mph.

I've used 845 on the windshield before. It caused kind of a haze when the wipers were on. I've had better experience just using 501 on it

I see you polished the glass with 501 and PC. I usually skip that...

Maybe that has a bearing? I just find it cleans the glass very well.

I dont use anything. My piaa wipers leave behind a silicone film on the windshield that beads off water when the car is going. I only use my wipers below 30mph.
